- Deliver instructor-led, virtual, and onboarding training programs for mortgage underwriting teams, ensuring learners gain both technical knowledge and practical application skills. • Facilitate new hire onboarding and ongoing learning programs to accelerate employee readiness, productivity, and performance. • Partner with Learning & Development, Operations, Quality, and business leaders to identify capability gaps and develop effective enablement solutions. • Bring US-developed underwriting curriculum, playbooks, and learning content to life for India-based teams through engaging facilitation and coaching. • Support the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of training materials, job aids, playbooks, onboarding resources, and process documentation. • Serve as a mortgage subject matter expert, translating complex underwriting concepts and business processes into easy-to-understand learning experiences. • Assess training effectiveness through learner feedback, knowledge assessments, adoption metrics, and business performance results, recommending improvements where needed. • Identify knowledge gaps, process challenges, and training opportunities from frontline feedback and provide actionable recommendations to leadership and curriculum teams. • Facilitate workshops, coaching sessions, and continuous learning initiatives that drive quality, compliance, productivity, and operational excellence. • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support process changes, recent initiatives, and the successful adoption of tools, policies, and best practices. • Mentor and support team members by sharing underwriting expertise, facilitation best practices, and coaching techniques. • Collaborate with a 16-person enablement team across the US and India to ensure training consistency, learner engagement, and business impact.
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. • 8-12 years of experience in Mortgage Operations, Underwriting, Closing,
Learning & Development, Enablement, or a related function. • Deep practitioner-level experience in Mortgage Underwriting (preferred) or Mortgage Closing, including hands-on knowledge of mortgage processes, policies, and loan decisioning. • Proven experience facilitating instructor-led, virtual, and onboarding training programs. • Experience designing, delivering, and continuously improving training content, playbooks, job aids, onboarding programs, and learning resources. • Strong ability to translate complex mortgage concepts into engaging, easy-to-understand learning experiences. • Experience onboarding, coaching, mentoring, or training mortgage professionals. • Strong understanding of US mortgage lending practices, underwriting standards, agency guidelines (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac), and regulatory requirements. • Experience using learner feedback, performance metrics, and business outcomes to measure training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement. • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Learning & Development, Operations, Quality, Business Leadership, and Subject Matter Experts. • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. • Experience supporting change management and driving adoption of new processes, tools, and best practices. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment and effectively partner with US-based stakeholders. • Current or recent experience as a Mortgage Trainer,
Mortgage Training Specialist, Learning & Development Specialist, Enablement Specialist, or Mortgage Enablement Professional. • Experience training for a mortgage company. • Previous experience as a Mortgage Underwriter, Underwriting Team Lead, Underwriting QC Analyst, Mortgage Closing Specialist, Closing Team Lead, or Closing QC Analyst. • Familiarity with instructional design principles, adult learning methodologies, and training facilitation best practices. • Facilitation certifications or formal Learning & Development certifications. • Experience supporting large-scale onboarding programs, new hire cohorts, or continuous learning initiatives. • Experience supporting change management and driving adoption of new processes, tools, or best practices. • Previous experience leading trainers, team leads, or learning professionals. • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or enablement platforms. • Background in quality control, coaching, process improvement, or operational excellence initiatives. Experience working within global teams across the US and India.
