We are looking for an experienced and responsible Traffic Incharge to manage day-to-day transportation and fleet operations for a 3PL logistics company. The candidate will be responsible for vehicle planning, route management, driver coordination, timely movement of shipments and ensuring smooth transportation operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily vehicle movement and transportation operations.
- Plan and allocate vehicles according to shipment requirements.
- Coordinate with drivers, transporters, vendors, warehouses and customers.
- Monitor vehicle placement, loading, dispatch and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of shipments.
- Track vehicles through GPS/vehicle tracking systems and monitor route deviations.
- Handle route planning and optimize vehicle utilization.
- Manage driver attendance, deployment and daily movement schedules.
- Coordinate in case of vehicle breakdowns, delays, accidents or route-related issues.
- Maintain proper records of vehicle movement, trips, deliveries and PODs.
- Monitor transportation costs, fuel usage and vehicle productivity.
- Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams for smooth loading/unloading.
- Follow up on pending deliveries and resolve transportation-related issues.
- Prepare daily/weekly MIS reports related to fleet and transportation operations.
- Ensure compliance with company transportation policies and applicable safety requirements.
- Manage relationships with third-party transporters and ensure service levels are maintained.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of transportation and fleet operations.
- Experience in 3PL/logistics/transportation operations.
- Good knowledge of Delhi-NCR routes and route planning.
- Experience handling drivers, transporters and commercial vehicles.
- Knowledge of GPS/vehicle tracking systems.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and MIS reporting.
- Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle urgent transportation issues.
Candidate Profile:- 3–6 years of relevant experience in traffic, fleet, transportation or logistics operations.
Experience in a 3PL logistics company will be preferred.
Candidates with experience managing a large fleet/vehicle movement will have an advantage.
Should be comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics workplace.
