URGENT HIRING!!!: Store / Spare Parts In-charge (Spinning Mill)
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Store / Spare Parts In-charge with deep knowledge of engineering items and spinning machinery components. The ideal candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of the engineering and spare parts store, ensuring optimal inventory levels, minimizing machine downtime, and maintaining strict cost controls. You will work closely with the Maintenance and Engineering departments to streamline the procurement, storage, and issuance of technical components.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory & Warehouse Management:
- Inventory Control: Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels of engineering items, electrical components, and spinning mill spare parts (e.g., blow room, carding, drawing, roving, ring frame, and open-end machinery spares).
- Receipt & Inspection: Oversee the receipt of incoming technical goods. Verify quantities and specifications against Purchase Orders (POs) and delivery challans.
- Storage Optimization: Ensure all engineering parts are stored systematically using proper tagging, binning, and categorization (e.g., FIFO system) to ensure easy traceability and prevent damage.
Technical Coordination & Sourcing:
- Engineering Expertise: Identify and distinguish various engineering items such as bearings, belts, pulleys, pneumatic components, valves, hardware, lubricants, and specialized textile machinery components.
- Collaboration: Partner with the Mechanical, Electrical, and Utility maintenance teams to anticipate spare parts requirements for routine, breakdown, and preventive maintenance.
- Local Sourcing:
Identify and coordinate with local vendors or fabrication workshops for urgent components or repair works to minimize production downtime.
Documentation & Systems:
- ERP Management: Accurately update all stock movements (receipts, issues, returns) in the company’s ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or specialized textile software).
- Purchase Requisitions: Raise timely Purchase Requisitions (PR) for fast-moving, minimum-stock, and critical breakdown spares.
- Stock Audits: Conduct regular physical stock verification and perpetual inventory audits to ensure zero discrepancy between system stock and physical stock.
Cost Control & Safety:
- Scrap Management: Maintain a systematic record of old/replaced engineering components and manage the scrap yard efficiently.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to 5S principles and safety standards within the store environment. Ensure proper handling of heavy engineering equipment and hazardous materials like lubricants.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Textile Technology, or a Graduate degree with a Diploma in Material/Store Management.
- Experience: 05+years of proven experience handling technical/engineering stores, specifically within a Textile Spinning Mill.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong familiarity with spinning machinery brands (e.g., Rieter, LMW, Truetzschler, Schlafhorst, Murata) and general engineering consumables.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (Store modules) and MS Excel.
- Competencies: Solid negotiation skills, analytical thinking, high integrity, and the ability to work under breakdown pressure.
