Staff Archaeologist (All Offices)

CRA is seeking Skilled Archaeologists at all levels. Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc. (CRA) is always looking for qualified, highly-motivated professionals to join our team. We work on a wide variety of projects each year across the full range of cultural resource services.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Pending experience and job position

Benefits: Full-time offers:

- - Medical, Vision, Dental, Life (99% of employee medical coverage paid by employer)
- Flexible Spending Plan offered

- Supplemental insurance policies offered (short-term disability, cancer, hospitalization)
- Paid holidays (10 days per year)
- Paid Time Off (80 hours for Year 1; 120 hours for Year 2; and 160 hours for Year 3), and employees that have been with the company 10 years or more get 5 weeks (200 hours) of PTO
- Paid Family Leave. The latter would consist of new mothers and fathers both get one week paid leave.



New mothers get a “short term disability” benefit that is paid by the company.
- Professional development stipend ($1,000 per year)
- Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) annual renewal payment for Affiliated status

Experience: At least 3 years experience supervising archaeological fieldwork is preferred.

Qualifications:

- - A graduate degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is preferred.
- At least 3 years experience supervising archaeological fieldwork is preferred. Experience at all levels of archaeological investigation is preferred but experience supervising Phase I cultural resource surveys is a must.
- No specific area of specialization is required, but priority will be given to archaeologists who also have experience/training in architectural history, ceramic analysis, geoarchaeology, GIS, geophysics, zooarchaeology, or ethnobotany.
- Qualification under the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards (36 CFR 61) in archaeology.
- A demonstrated ability to write clearly and professionally. Previous experience writing CRM reports is preferred.
- Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and technologically proficient in basic computer programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Experience in databases and digital data collection is a plus.
- Ability to use GPS units, compasses, and maps and navigate efficiently in remote areas.
- Must be a licensed driver with a safe driving record and be able to operate motor vehicles in a safe manner on roadways. Prior experience pulling trailers is a plus.
- While not required, prior experience driving a small motorboat and maintaining safe water practices is a plus.




- It is imperative that candidates be able to work 8-10 hour days in a variety of field conditions.
- There will be frequent stays away from the office.
- Hiking, stooping, bending, and lifting are essential functions of this position
