We are looking for an experienced South Indian Cuisine Chef to join our team and lead the kitchen for a new South Indian food concept in Jabalpur.
The restaurant’s signature dish is Benne Dosa, so strong hands-on experience in preparing authentic, crisp and flavourful Benne Dosa is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare authentic South Indian dishes with consistent taste and quality.
- Specialise in Benne Dosa and maintain consistency in batter, texture, roasting and presentation.
- Prepare dosas, idlis, vadas, uttapams, chutneys, sambar and other South Indian dishes.
- Manage daily kitchen preparation and mise en place.
- Maintain hygiene, cleanliness and food-safety standards.
- Control food wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
- Maintain consistency in portion sizes, taste and presentation.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
- Assist in developing and standardising recipes and kitchen processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in South Indian cuisine.
- Proven experience in preparing Benne Dosa is highly preferred.
- Robust knowledge of South Indian cooking techniques and ingredients.
- Ability to maintain consistent taste and quality during high-volume service.
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
- Ability to manage kitchen operations independently.
- Experience in a restaurant, hotel or South Indian food outlet preferred.
