About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer – HVAC to take ownership of HVAC design solutions across projects.

The role involves developing practical technical solutions, independently resolving complex design issues, identifying opportunities for design and cost optimisation, and ensuring quality, coordination and compliance throughout the design process.

The role will also involve regular interaction with clients and other project stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

HVAC Design & Technical Expertise

- Develop technical HVAC solutions based on project requirements.
- Independently identify and resolve technical design issues.
- Review HVAC design, calculations, layouts and engineering documentation.
- Ensure design solutions are practical, coordinated and technically sound.
- Provide technical inputs to the design team on project-specific requirements.
- Identify and address technical challenges during the design process.

Design & Cost Optimisation
- Identify practical opportunities for design and system optimisation.
- Evaluate alternate HVAC design and engineering approaches.
- Develop solutions that improve efficiency while meeting project requirements.
- Quantify the cost impact and benefits of proposed optimisation opportunities.
- Support the team in implementing value engineering initiatives.

Design Excellence & Innovation
- Challenge conventional design approaches and explore better alternatives.
- Develop alternate design proposals based on project requirements.
- Evaluate different technical solutions from performance, feasibility and cost perspectives.
- Contribute to design standardisation,



innovation and improved engineering practices.
- Share technical knowledge and practical solutions with the HVAC design team.

Quality & Compliance
- Review HVAC designs in depth to identify technical, coordination and compliance risks.
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards and project requirements.
- Identify design gaps and support timely resolution.
- Coordinate with the Mechanical QC team to address quality and compliance issues.
- Ensure design deliverables are accurate, coordinated and ready for project execution.
- Support continuous improvement in design quality and reduce rework.

Client & Stakeholder Interface
- Actively participate in day-to-day client discussions related to HVAC design.
- Understand client requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions.
- Present technical options and design recommendations when required.
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants and other disciplines to resolve design issues.
- Maintain clear communication with project stakeholders throughout the design process.

What We’re Looking For
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in HVAC design and engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience in HVAC design and engineering solutions.




- Experience in commercial interiors, workplace, commercial buildings or Design & Build projects is preferred.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, design calculations and engineering principles.
- Experience in design optimisation and value engineering.
- Ability to identify alternate design solutions and quantify cost implications.
- Robust understanding of design coordination, quality and compliance.
- Experience in client and consultant coordination.
- Strong problem-solving and technical decision-making skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of BIM/Revit-based HVAC design would be an added advantage.
