Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior DB Architect to lead DB2 to AWS Aurora Postgres migration and modernization initiatives. The candidate should possess robust architecture, strategy, documentation, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

Experience: 10+ Years

Location : KL, Malaysia (candidates from India will have to relocate to KL )

Key requirements:

- 10+ years of experience in database architecture and migration projects.
- Strong expertise in IBM DB2 LUW, AWS Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL, AWS DMS, and AWS SCT.
- Proven experience in migration assessment, strategy preparation, architecture design, and database modernization initiatives.
- Strong capability in preparing migration strategies, architecture documents (HLD/LLD), runbooks, governance artefacts, and executive presentations.
- Experience conducting customer workshops, architecture reviews, and stakeholder management.
- Expertise in performance tuning, HA/DR design, backup & recovery, migration planning, cutover, and rollback strategies.
- Relevant DB2 to AWS migration experience

Key Responsibilities

- Define migration and modernization strategy




- Conduct discovery workshops and assessments
- Prepare HLD, LLD, migration design documents and runbooks
- Develop executive and technical presentations
- Design AWS Aurora target architecture
- Lead schema conversion, migration planning and cutover strategy
- Define HA/DR, backup and recovery architecture
- Drive governance, risk management and architecture reviews
- Mentor DBAs, developers and project teams
