About the Role

ANI News is looking for an experienced and well-connected Senior Civil Aviation Reporter to cover India’s fast-evolving aviation sector. The role involves breaking news, exclusive stories, industry developments, regulatory updates and in-depth coverage of airlines, airports and aviation policy.

Key Responsibilities

- Cover day-to-day developments across the civil aviation sector, including airlines, airports, DGCA, Ministry of Civil Aviation and other key stakeholders.
- Break and develop exclusive stories, news alerts and in-depth reports on aviation-related developments.
- Build and maintain strong sources across airlines, aviation authorities, government departments, airport operators and industry bodies.
- Track and report on aviation regulations, policies, safety developments, airline operations, mergers, acquisitions and industry trends.
- Conduct interviews with senior industry executives, government officials, aviation experts and other relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor major aviation incidents, disruptions, route developments, fleet changes and operational updates.
- Attend press conferences, briefings, industry events and other relevant assignments.
- Coordinate with the newsroom to deliver accurate, timely and high-impact stories across ANI platforms.




- Verify information and maintain high standards of journalistic accuracy, speed and credibility.
- Develop original story ideas and contribute to special reports and exclusive coverage.

Requirements

- 5+ years of experience in journalism, preferably with substantial experience covering civil aviation.
- Strong understanding of India’s aviation ecosystem, including airlines, airports, DGCA and the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
- Proven ability to break news and develop exclusive stories.
- Strong network of credible sources within the aviation and government sectors.
- Excellent English writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle breaking news situations.
- Solid research, fact-checking and interviewing skills.
- Willingness to travel for assignments when required.
- Experience working in a fast-paced digital newsroom will be an advantage.
