At PreciQube, we're building a broadband platform to analyse human serum at the molecular level.
We've shown the physics works. Now we're asking a harder question: how much disease-relevant molecular information can an optical measurement actually recover from serum?
To answer it, we're planning a large in-matrix spike study with ~300 analytes across a range of concentrations. We're looking for a research intern to help design and run the study and make sense of the resulting data.
PreciQube is supported by Emergent Ventures.
What you'll do
- Design spike-recovery experiments and concentration matrices
- Decide how analytes should be grouped and measured
- Plan controls, replicates and validation experiments
- Generate and organise a large experimental dataset
- Analyse spectral response, effective rank and molecular degeneracy
- Evaluate detection limits and analyte recoverability
- Test whether measurements are additive and identify experimental confounds
- Compare the information gained from different measurement modalities
Who we're looking for Someone from analytical chemistry, chemometrics, clinical chemistry, metabolomics, spectroscopy or a related field. You should enjoy designing experiments, working with messy real-world data, and thinking hard about what an experiment can really tell us.
