About us

POD Foundry is a well-funded US startup, targeting the huge $1T+ real estate space. In particular, the company is manufacturing highly differentiable breakthrough prefabricated building modules (PODs) that completely disrupt how buildings are built. POD Foundry modules are multi-disciplinary and utilize innovations across all building disciplines, architecture, structure and MEPF services.

POD Foundry is setting up its first factory in Vizag which will be completely export oriented. You will have the opportunity to witness the entire factory setup cycle from sketch to mass production. We are getting together best in class structural engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, plumbing engineers, BIM Engineers/Architects, QA/QC professionals and managers, among others.

You will have the prospect to work on all stages of the building module development lifecycle in the factory, that is prototyping, EVT, DVT, PVT & MP. Department: Production

Experience: 10 -15 years in hands-on plumbing execution

Education: Bachelors degree in mechanical preferred; relevant diploma acceptable with strong construction practical experience

Industry: Plumbing fabrication, installation, and testing experience mandatory; modular, off-site, PEB, or factory-prefabrication experience preferred

Work Location: SEZ Visakhapatnam, with site visits during installation,



testing, commissioning, and handover

Role Summary

Lead factory planning, prefabrication, assembly, testing, and dispatch of plumbing and public-health systems for modular and PEB projects, followed by site installation and commissioning support. Own shop-floor safety, workmanship, productivity, and delivery, coordinating with design, quality, procurement, logistics, design, production, quality, structural, architectural, procurement, logistics, consultants, clients, authorities, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities and Capabilities:

- Manage domestic cold water, hot water and recirculation, flushing water, sanitary drainage and venting, stormwater, rainwater harvesting, pumping, storage, and treatment interfaces.
- Interpret approved drawings, specifications, BOQs, risers, and submittals; resolve constructability issues and prepare spool drawings, cutting lists, assembly sequences, and shop-floor work instructions.
- Supervise cutting, deburring, joint preparation, and assembly of PEX, CPVC, uPVC, copper, and metallic piping as specified. Control expansion, crimping, pressing, solvent-cementing, threading, grooving, brazing, and welding, as applicable, using approved tools and procedures.
- Oversee installation of pumps, tanks, water heaters, manifolds, valves, sanitary fixtures, and bathroom/kitchen POD connections. Verify positioning, alignment, isolation, backflow protection, and maintenance access.
- Manage brackets, hangers, anchors, flexible connections, and module interfaces. Verify drainage slopes, levels, vent routing, cleanout access, thermal movement, penetrations, and coordination with waterproofing and firestopping.
- Prepare daily and weekly plans; allocate manpower, materials, workstations, tools, jigs, and calibrated instruments. Monitor output and milestones; coordinate shafts, openings,



service routes, packaging, and logistics.
- Verify quantities, incoming materials, product approvals, and required certifications. Lead supervisors, contractors, and trade teams; ensure competence, safe working practices, and protection of completed work.
- Implement inspection and test plans for concealed work, water-supply pressure tests, drainage and vent leakage tests, flushing, disinfection, drainage flow, and equipment operation. Follow approved procedures and manufacturer requirements; maintain traceable records.
- Verify dimensions, connection points, labelling, cleanliness, capped pipe ends, and transport protection. Identify site connections and repeat tests; coordinate commissioning, performance checks, and snag closure.
- Maintain RFIs, approvals, progress, variations, cost impacts, and corrective actions. Reduce recurring defects and support measurement, billing, as-builts, O&M; manuals, warranties, training, and handover.

Competencies and Preferred Profile Hands-on factory leadership, practical problem-solving, trade-team mentoring, and multidisciplinary coordination, with strong control of safety, quality, cost, and schedule. Drawing interpretation and MS Office/reporting skills are essential; AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, hydraulic-design, or planning-software knowledge is desirable.

Codes and Standards: Working knowledge of UPC or IPC as adopted, applicable US state and local amendments, including Washington State requirements for relevant projects, applicable IS standards, ASTM/ASME piping and joining standards, NSF/ANSI/CAN potable-water requirements, required product listings, and manufacturer installation instructions.
