At Layam, you will have the opportunity to build and lead a national staffing and mobilisation division, with the authority to shape your team and delivery model.

We are looking for a senior staffing leader who combines commercial judgement with direct involvement in staffing delivery. The role is based in Chennai and covers multiple clients and locations across India. You will report to the Director and take responsibility for staffing from demand planning through successful mobilisation and joining.

The experience this role requires

- 12–20 years in staffing, workforce solutions, manufacturing staffing or a closely related workforce delivery role, including leadership of multi-location teams.
- Direct high-volume staffing experience in manufacturing and automotive, alongside e-commerce or warehouse operations. Experience in EMS and electronics manufacturing is strongly valued.
- A proven record of leading 600–1,000-person mobilisation programmes within demanding client timelines. Be ready to explain actual joiners, time taken and your personal contribution.
- Experience hiring women at scale, including candidate communication, joining readiness and coordination with site teams on practical barriers to participation.
- Experience managing staffing managers, team leaders, staffing executives and regional sourcing or mobilisation partners.
- Evidence of improving cost per successful joining, sourcing team productivity and selection-to-joining conversion while meeting client requirements.

Relevant staffing coverage Your experience should cover operators, ITI and diploma talent, apprentices,



technicians, production and assembly associates, quality and maintenance personnel, and warehouse or fulfilment teams. Hiring supervisors, team leaders and other operational roles across levels will also be relevant.

What you will lead

- National delivery planning. Translate client requirements into location-wise sourcing plans, sourcing team capacity, budgets and joining schedules. Anticipate plant ramp-ups, seasonal peaks and pipeline gaps.
- Sourcing network development. Build regional staffing partnerships, rural and district-level mobilisation, referral channels, ITI and polytechnic relationships, college drives and apprenticeship sourcing, including NAPS and NATS.
- Team leadership. Set clear targets, develop staffing managers, coach teams and review productivity. Stay directly involved when a drive or client commitment needs senior attention.
- Joining and mobilisation. Improve candidate communication and follow-through. Coordinate documentation, onboarding readiness and transport or relocation arrangements where relevant to the client requirement.
- Women’s workforce hiring. Build effective sourcing and engagement approaches, and coordinate with client and site teams on concerns that affect joining and continued participation.
- Commercial discipline. Manage sourcing spend, channel mix and partner productivity to improve acquisition costs and make volume delivery sustainable.
- Client fulfilment. Work with plant HR, corporate HR, warehouse and operations leaders on priorities, service commitments and escalations. Maintain explicit reporting and reliable follow-up.




- National visibility. Use staffing data to identify risks early and build repeatable delivery processes across industrial and logistics locations.

How success will be measured Successful joiners and deployments; fulfilment against client requirements; staffing turnaround time; selection-to-joining conversion; cost per successful joining; sourcing team and partner productivity; joining dropouts; pipeline readiness; and client satisfaction. Delivery should be repeatable across major ramp-ups.
