In particular, the company is manufacturing highly differentiable breakthrough prefabricated building modules (PODs) that completely disrupt how buildings are built. POD Foundry modules are multi-disciplinary and utilize innovations across all building disciplines, architecture, structure and MEPF services.
POD Foundry is setting up its first factory in Vizag which will be completely export oriented. You will have the opportunity to witness the entire factory setup cycle from sketch to mass production. Department: Production
Experience: 10-15 years in hands-on HVAC execution
Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; Diploma acceptable with strong practical experience
Industry: HVAC fabrication, installation, and testing experience mandatory; modular, off-site, PEB, or factory-prefabrication experience preferred
Location: Predominantly factory-based, with site visits for installation,
commissioning, and handover
Role Summary
Lead factory planning, prefabrication, assembly, testing, and dispatch of HVAC systems for modular and PEB projects, followed by site installation and commissioning support. Own shop-floor safety, workmanship, productivity, and delivery, coordinating with design, procurement, quality, logistics, and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage execution of air-conditioning, ventilation, VRF/VRV, and chilled-water systems, including associated controls and building-service interfaces.
- Interpret approved drawings, specifications, BOQs, and submittals; resolve constructability issues and prepare fabrication details, spool drawings, cutting lists, assembly sequences, and shop-floor work instructions.
- Supervise duct fabrication, jointing, sealing, fittings, dampers, versatile connections, and insulation. Verify dimensions, reinforcement, alignment, supports, and access.
- Manage copper refrigerant and mechanical piping, including cutting, deburring, bending, fit-up, nitrogen-purged brazing, welding, and mechanical jointing, as applicable. Ensure correct routing, cleanliness, joint quality, insulation, and identification.
- Oversee HVAC unit, AHU, ERV, and fan installation; verify levelling, anchoring, vibration isolation, condensate drainage, and maintenance clearances. Manage supports, thermal movement provisions, flexible piping connections, and module interfaces.
- Prepare daily and weekly production plans; allocate manpower, workstations, materials, tools, jigs, and calibrated instruments. Monitor output, milestones, and recovery actions; coordinate openings, service routes, and site requirements.
- Verify quantities and support technical bids, vendor selection, and procurement. Check incoming materials, equipment ratings, approvals,
and required certifications against project requirements.
- Lead engineers, supervisors, contractors, and trade teams; verify competence and applicable qualifications. Enforce safe hot-work, cylinder-handling, lifting, and pressure-testing practices.
- Implement inspection and test plans covering concealed work, duct leakage, piping pressure/leak tests, refrigerant evacuation and vacuum-hold checks, drainage, and equipment operation. Coordinate balancing, controls checks, commissioning, and snag closure; maintain traceable records.
- Ensure dispatch readiness through dimensional and interface checks, labelling, capped pipe and duct ends, equipment protection, and packaging. Identify site connections and required retesting after transport and assembly.
- Maintain RFIs, approvals, progress reports, variations, cost impacts, and corrective actions. Reduce recurring defects and support billing, as-builts, O&M; manuals, warranties, training, and handover.
Competencies and Preferred Profile Hands-on shop-floor leadership, practical problem-solving, trade-team mentoring, and multidisciplinary coordination, with strong control of safety, quality, cost, and schedule. Drawing interpretation and MS Office/reporting skills are essential; AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, or planning-software knowledge is desirable.
Codes and Standards: Working knowledge of SMACNA duct fabrication and installation standards, relevant ASHRAE standards, adopted mechanical codes and local amendments, including Washington State requirements for relevant projects; applicable IS standards, AWS/ASME welding and brazing requirements, required equipment listings, and manufacturer installation instructions.
