POSITION SUMMARY

Pebble Street Hospitality is looking for an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee engineering, maintenance and facility operations across our restaurant outlets.

The role will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and uninterrupted functioning of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, civil and mechanical systems, fire & life-safety systems and other critical infrastructure.

The Maintenance Manager will lead preventive and breakdown maintenance, manage internal teams and external vendors, oversee AMCs, control maintenance costs, support current outlet projects and ensure compliance with required safety and operational standards.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical and troubleshooting skills, excellent vendor-management capabilities and experience managing maintenance operations across multiple hospitality or restaurant locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintenance & Engineering Operations

- Oversee day-to-day maintenance and engineering operations across all assigned restaurant outlets.
- Ensure smooth functioning of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, civil, mechanical and other building services.
- Plan and monitor preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance schedules.
- Conduct regular outlet inspections and identify potential issues before they impact operations.
- Prioritise maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution of breakdowns and complaints.
- Minimise operational downtime through effective preventive maintenance and timely corrective action.
- Provide technical support for new outlet openings, renovations, refurbishments and equipment installations.

1. Equipment & Asset Management

- Ensure proper maintenance and operational efficiency of commercial kitchen and restaurant equipment, including refrigeration, freezers, chillers, ovens, cooking equipment, dishwashers, ice machines, exhaust systems, pumps and other specialised equipment.
- Maintain equipment-wise service, repair, warranty and maintenance records.
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers and authorised service agencies for repairs and technical support.
- Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend repair, replacement or long-term corrective solutions.

1. Fire, Safety & Compliance

- Ensure all fire, life-safety and emergency systems are operational and regularly serviced.
- Coordinate maintenance and testing of fire alarms, extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers, emergency lighting, fire pumps and related systems.
- Ensure engineering areas,



equipment rooms and work areas are maintained in a safe and compliant condition.
- Coordinate statutory inspections and ensure timely closure of safety and compliance observations.

1. AMC & Vendor Management

- Manage all maintenance-related vendors, contractors and service agencies.
- Monitor AMC performance, service quality, response time and contract compliance.
- Coordinate AMC renewals, warranties, quotations and technical evaluations.
- Negotiate service costs and ensure cost-effective maintenance solutions.
- Maintain an updated database of AMCs, contracts, warranties and service agreements.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Finance for vendor-related requirements.

1. Budget & Cost Control

- Prepare and monitor maintenance budgets and expenditure across outlets.
- Control repair, replacement, spare-part and service costs through effective planning and preventive maintenance.
- Analyse recurring maintenance expenses and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Monitor electricity, water, DG and other utility consumption and implement energy and cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained for major repairs, replacements and capital expenditure.

1. Team Management

- Lead, supervise and allocate work to the maintenance/engineering team.
- Ensure adequate manpower, productivity, discipline, grooming, hygiene and safety standards.
- Train team members on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment handling and safety procedures.
- Conduct regular team meetings and monitor team performance.

1. Inventory & Spare Parts Management

- Maintain adequate stock of essential engineering spares, tools and consumables.
- Monitor consumption and initiate timely replenishment.
- Ensure proper storage, usage and accountability of engineering materials.
- Maintain records of spare-part consumption and minimise wastage.

1. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, breakdowns, equipment servicing, AMCs, warranties, inventory and utility consumption.

- Submit regular maintenance and engineering reports to the Operations and Management teams.

1. Outlet Projects & Technical Support

- Provide engineering support for new outlet openings, renovations and refurbishment projects.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants,



equipment suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Review technical requirements for new equipment and installations.
- Ensure installations are completed as per required specifications, safety standards and operational requirements.
- Support pre-opening inspections and final handover of engineering systems.

1. Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with Operations, Restaurant General Managers, Outlet Managers, Culinary, Procurement, Finance, HR & Administration, Projects, Security and Housekeeping to ensure smooth and uninterrupted restaurant operations.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or a related technical field preferred.

- Relevant technical qualifications combined with strong hospitality maintenance experience may also be considered.

Experience
- 8–12 years of overall experience in maintenance/engineering.

- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Prior experience in restaurants, hospitality, QSR, retail, commercial properties or multi-location businesses preferred.
- Experience managing maintenance across multiple outlets will be an advantage.
