About NoLitigation

NoLitigation is building the AI-native infrastructure for business dispute resolution. Our mission is to build the world's most trusted global infrastructure for dispute resolution; giving every business, everywhere, access to a resolution that is fast, fair and reliable, without ever stepping into a courtroom.

The problem E very external dispute starts as something smaller; a customer who feels treated unfairly, a refund that didn't arrive, a decision nobody explained. Inside most businesses these grievances are still handled by hand, with caseworkers gathering evidence, checking policy and drafting responses one case at a time. The result is backlogs, different outcomes for similar complaints, and grievances that escalate into costly external disputes.

Our answer

NoLi Prevent: our first product helps compliance, legal and customer service teams resolve grievances internally, before they become a formal dispute. AI reviews the evidence against the business's terms and the applicable laws and licensing regulations, and recommends a resolution in minutes. A qualified human checks and signs off every recommendation, with a full audit trail ready for regulatory scrutiny.

Where we are

NoLi Prevent went into private beta with its first customer last month. We are starting with one industry in UK and will then expand to others. We are a small team based at the Bradfield Centre in Cambridge, UK, led by a founder who previously co-founded Radarr Technologies and sold it to Genesys; you will be one of our first hires.

About the role

You will be the legal expert and the human in the loop behind our AI.

Every

NoLi Prevent recommendation is checked by a qualified human before it reaches a customer; your job is to make sure the AI gets it right in the first place.

Half of the role is research: finding, interpreting and structuring the laws, regulations and industry codes that govern the disputes we resolve.

The other half is review: checking what goes into our reasoning model and what comes out, spotting where it is wrong, and turning those findings into concrete improvements with our product and engineering teams.

This is not a traditional legal job.

You will not draft pleadings or appear in court. You will make an AI system reason more accurately, fairly and transparently about the law.

Location:

India, fully remote

Type:

Full-time

Reports to:

Founder & CEO

Works closely with

Head of AI/ML, product and engineering

Experience:

2 to 5 years

What you will do

1. Jurisdictional and regulatory research

- Research the laws, regulations and industry codes that apply to each sector and jurisdiction we serve, starting with UK gambling (Gambling Commission rules, LCCP, ADR requirements) and UK consumer law.
- Build and maintain a structured legal knowledge base the AI model draws on: rules, sources, effective dates and plain-English summaries.
- Track regulatory changes, consultations and published decisions, and flag what they mean for the product.
- Write short research notes that help the business and product teams decide which sectors and jurisdictions to enter next.

2. Human in the loop for the AI reasoning model

- Review the inputs to the model (complaint, evidence, documents, applicable rules) for completeness and relevance.
- Review the model's outputs: is the reasoning legally sound, does it cite the right rules, is the recommended outcome fair and consistent?
- Grade and annotate outputs against clear criteria, and record where and why the model went wrong.
- Build test cases and benchmark datasets of realistic grievances with agreed correct outcomes.
- Escalate low-confidence or high-risk cases and help define when a human must step in.

3. Working with product and engineering

- Turn review findings into specific, actionable feedback on prompts, retrieval sources, rules and guardrails.
- Help design review workflows, scoring rubrics and quality metrics for the model.

- Test new model versions before release and confirm they improve on the last one.
- Take part in sprint planning and product discussions as the team's legal voice.

What we are looking for Essential

- A law degree (LLB, BA LLB or LLM) from a recognised university.
- 2 to 5 years in legal research, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution or legal operations.
- Strong research skills across statutes, regulations, case law and regulator guidance, including for jurisdictions outside India.
- Excellent written English; you should be able to explain a legal position clearly and briefly to a non-legal person
- A accurate, analytical mindset and comfort making consistent judgement calls at volume.
- Curiosity about AI and a willingness to work hands-on with AI tools every day.
- Able to work with a reliable overlap with UK working hours.

Desirable

- Knowledge of UK law, especially consumer protection or ADR/ombudsman schemes.
- Experience with complaints handling, arbitration or mediation.
- Experience reviewing or annotating AI output, building evaluation datasets or working in legal tech.
- Familiarity with how large language models, prompts and retrieval (RAG) work.
- Experience working alongside product managers and engineers in a start-up.

What success looks like in the first 6 months

- Month 1: You understand the product, the model pipeline and the UK rulebook for our first industry, and are reviewing live test cases.
- Month 2: A structured UK legal knowledge base is in use by the model for the first industry, with a scoring rubric and a benchmark set of test cases.
- Month 4: Your feedback has measurably improved model accuracy for the first industry, and research for the next vertical is under way.

What we offer

- A founding-team role at an early-stage UK legal tech company, working directly with the founder.
- Work at the meeting point of law and AI, on a product that changes how businesses resolve disputes.
- Exposure to UK and international regulation across several industries.
- Remote working from anywhere in India. Bangalore preferred but not essential.
- Compensation of ₹10–16 LPA, depending on experience, plus an ESOP grant.
