Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead, AI and Machine Learning Engineering to own the architecture and engineering of Kotak Securities' AI platform. The role will focus on building scalable AI and ML systems within a regulated financial workplace, covering platform architecture, MLOps, governance, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

- Own AI platform architecture across model routing, agent orchestration, retrieval, evaluation, and guardrails.
- Define retrieval and serving strategies across managed and self-hosted models.
- Build evaluation infrastructure, regression testing, and online quality monitoring.
- Own applied ML initiatives across personalisation, client intelligence, risk, surveillance, and automation.
- Build scalable MLOps infrastructure including feature pipelines, training, inference, registry, lineage, and drift monitoring.
- Own AI governance, explainability, auditability, consent-aware data usage, and regulatory readiness.
- Make build-versus-buy decisions across AI and ML tooling.
- Build and lead the engineering team and work closely with business,



risk, compliance, and information security teams.

Required Skills

- 10+ years in software or data engineering, including 5+ years in AI/ML and 3+ years leading engineering teams.
- Robust experience building and operating production ML systems at scale.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, agent orchestration, tool use, prompt engineering, structured outputs, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
- Robust Python and experience reviewing production-grade code.
- Experience with AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, or equivalent cloud ML platforms.
- Experience with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, or similar lakehouse technologies.
- Strong understanding of model governance, risk, and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in financial services, capital markets, risk, or surveillance.
- Familiarity with DPDPA, SEBI CSCRF, or similar regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with GPU infrastructure and inference optimisation.
- Open-source contributions, published work, or conference speaking.
- Experience driving AI adoption across large organisations.
