About the role

We are a health technology company with a subsidiary in Australia, seeking a Lawyer to support our legal, regulatory and compliance activities.

Based in Hyderabad under a hybrid working arrangement, you will work with regulators, clients, external legal advisers and internal teams on practical legal and compliance matters across India and Australia.

You will receive extensive support from external legal firms and in-house industry experts, with opportunities to develop your skills in regulatory affairs, compliance audits, commercial contracts and healthcare governance.

An excellent command of written and spoken English is essential, particularly the ability to draft transparent, accurate correspondence and communicate confidently with professional stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

- Regulatory and client liaison: Coordinate communications with regulators, clients and external legal advisers, ensuring matters are documented and followed up promptly.
- Regulatory correspondence: Prepare draft responses to enquiries and notices, gather supporting records and coordinate review with external lawyers and industry experts.
- Compliance monitoring: Help identify applicable legal and regulatory requirements, maintain compliance calendars and registers, and track deadlines and outstanding actions.
- Compliance audits: Assist with planning and undertaking audits, reviewing records and processes, documenting findings and monitoring corrective actions through to completion.
- Legal research: Research legislation, regulations and regulatory guidance, prepare concise summaries, and flag developments relevant to the business.
- Drafting and contract review: Draft and review correspondence, policies, procedures and commercial documents, including confidentiality, client and service agreements.
- External legal coordination: Prepare factual summaries and document packs for external legal firms, track advice and assist internal teams with implementation.




- Practical business support: Work with operational teams to turn legal advice and audit findings into clear procedures and improvements.
- Document management: Maintain accurate, organised legal and compliance records, with appropriate confidentiality and version control.

What we are looking for

- An LL.B. or equivalent law qualification from a recognised university.
- Excellent written and spoken English, including strong grammar, comprehension and legal drafting skills.
- The ability to explain legal and compliance matters clearly to people without a legal background.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to distinguish relevant facts from assumptions.
- Professional confidence when communicating with regulators, clients, external lawyers and colleagues.
- An organised approach to managing multiple matters, meeting deadlines and following through on agreed actions.
- Sound judgement, discretion and an understanding of when to seek specialist advice or escalate an issue.
- Confidence using standard office software, legal research resources and document management tools.
- An interest in health technology and a willingness to learn unfamiliar regulatory frameworks.
- Based in Hyderabad, or willing to relocate, and available for hybrid working.

Experience or relevant internships in a law firm, in-house legal team or compliance function would be advantageous. Exposure to healthcare, technology, data privacy or compliance audits is desirable. Prior knowledge of Australian law is an advantage but is not essential.
