About the house A house working in gold and stone since 1789 , now in its sixth generation, with ateliers at Khan Market and Aurobindo Market and our office at Green Park. Our jewels are built on archival research and the hand of the karigar, and were most recently seen on Netflix's Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar .

We are looking for a designer who does not simply draw beautiful jewellery, but understands the history and the making behind it.

The role

You will work beside the founders and our karigars, carrying a piece from the first abstract idea to a finished, wearable jewel.

- Research Nizam and Deccani jewels , Mughal and Rajput jewellery, wider Indian traditions, Victorian jewellery and the outstanding treasury collections.
- Take an abstract idea, distil it into an archetype , and resolve that archetype into a finished jewel.
- Produce hand drawn sketches and gouache and watercolour renderings of presentation standard.
- Draw accurate axonometric and orthogonal views for the bench.
- Prepare design sheets covering proportion, dimensions,



stone placement and articulation.
- Work through prototyping with the karigars, refining until the piece is true to the drawing.
- Build and keep the house's historical reference archive.

What we look for Portfolio and eye matter more to us than years of experience.
- Fluency in axonometric projection and orthogonal views .
- Excellent freehand sketching and professional gouache and watercolour rendering .
- Strong understanding of jadau , polki and kundan construction, and of Indian jewellery making techniques.
- Genuine knowledge of Nizam and Deccani, Mughal, Rajput and Victorian jewellery, and of treasury and museum collections.
- The judgement to tell thoughtful reinterpretation from replication.
- A refined sense of proportion, balance, colour and restraint.
- Curiosity, patience and respect for historical accuracy.
- An advantage: CorelDRAW, Photoshop, Illustrator, Rhino or Matrix.
