The General Manager is responsible for the overall management, performance, profitability, growth, and smooth functioning of Kamala TVS.
The GM shall lead the Sales, Service, Spare Parts, Customer Relations, Accounts, Administration, and branch teams and ensure that all departments achieve their respective targets while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction and operational discipline.
The General Manager will act as the key link between the Management, TVS Motor Company, departmental heads, branch teams, and employees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Overall Dealership Management
- Take complete responsibility for the overall operations of Kamala TVS.
- Monitor the performance of all branches and departments.
- Conduct regular reviews with Sales, Service, Spare Parts, Accounts, CRM, and Branch Heads.
- Ensure proper coordination between all departments.
- Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure that Management instructions and company policies are properly implemented across all branches.
- Maintain discipline, productivity, and qualified working standards throughout the dealership.
1. Sales Management
- Ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual vehicle sales targets.
- Review daily bookings, enquiries, follow-ups, conversions, retail, and deliveries.
- Monitor branch-wise, model-wise, and employee-wise sales performance.
- Develop action plans for branches or executives performing below target.
- Monitor enquiry-to-booking and booking-to-retail conversion.
- Ensure proper follow-up of hot, warm, and pending enquiries.
- Plan and monitor field activities, roadshows, exchange activities, finance activities, institutional sales, and local marketing programs.
- Improve market penetration and market share in the assigned territory.
- Monitor lost enquiries and take corrective action.
1. Service Department Management
- Monitor daily service inflow and workshop productivity.
- Ensure achievement of service revenue, labour, parts, and other workshop targets.
- Review technician productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure timely vehicle delivery and reduce pending jobs.
- Monitor repeat complaints and customer complaints.
- Ensure proper job card procedures and service documentation.
- Improve customer retention and service revisit ratio.
- Conduct regular reviews with the Works Manager, Service Manager, Service Advisors, CREs, and technical team.
1. Spare Parts Management
- Monitor spare parts sales and availability.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels based on business requirements.
- Monitor fast-moving, slow-moving, and non-moving inventory.
- Ensure timely ordering and replenishment of spare parts.
- Reduce unnecessary inventory holding and ageing stock.
- Coordinate with the Service Department to ensure required parts are available without affecting vehicle delivery.
1. Customer Satisfaction & CRM
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction across Sales and Service.
- Personally monitor serious or escalated customer complaints.
- Ensure complaints are resolved within the required timeline.
- Review customer feedback and identify recurring issues.
- Monitor Sales and Service follow-up activities.
- Ensure customers receive professional and transparent communication.
- Maintain and improve TVS customer satisfaction standards.
1. Financial & Profitability Management
- Take responsibility for dealership profitability.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, discounts, incentives, outstanding payments, and operational costs.
- Review department-wise income and expenses.
- Control unnecessary expenditure and improve cost efficiency.
- Monitor receivables and ensure timely collection.
- Ensure discounts and special approvals are provided only according to Management policy.
- Coordinate with the Accounts Department for financial reviews.
- Focus on improving both turnover and net profitability.
1. Team Management & HR Coordination
- Lead and motivate Branch Managers, Department Heads, Sales Managers, Service Managers, and employees.
- Identify manpower requirements and coordinate recruitment requirements with HR.
- Participate in interviews for key positions.
- Monitor employee attendance, discipline, productivity, and performance.
- Identify training and development requirements.
- Recommend employee confirmation, promotion, transfer, increment, reward, warning, or disciplinary action based on performance and conduct.
- Ensure new employees receive proper induction and departmental training.
- Develop second-line leaders and ensure continuity of operations.
1. Branch Management
- Regularly visit and review all Kamala TVS branches.
- Ensure every branch maintains required standards for manpower, display, cleanliness, customer handling, documentation, and branding.
- Review branch-wise sales, service, expenses, and profitability.
- Ensure Branch Managers take ownership of their respective branch performance.
- Implement immediate corrective action where branch performance is below expectations.
1. TVS Company Coordination
- Maintain professional coordination with TVS Motor Company officials.
- Attend company reviews, meetings, conferences, and training programs whenever required.
- Ensure timely submission of reports requested by TVS.
- Implement TVS guidelines, processes, schemes, campaigns, and standards.
- Coordinate with the respective TVS teams for Sales, Service, Parts, Training, Customer Satisfaction, and Dealer Development activities.
1. MIS & Management Reporting
The General Manager shall review and report key business performance indicators to Management, including:
- Daily and monthly enquiries
- Bookings
- Retail sales
- Model-wise sales
- Branch-wise sales
- Sales Executive performance
- Target vs achievement
- Conversion ratio
- Pending bookings
- Finance and exchange performance
- Service vehicle inflow
- Workshop revenue
- Labour revenue
- Spare parts performance
- Customer complaints
- Outstanding payments
- Employee performance
- Branch profitability
Any major operational, financial, employee, or customer-related issue must be immediately reported to Management. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS – KPI
Performance of the General Manager will primarily be evaluated based on:
Sales: Target achievement, retail growth, conversion ratio, market share and branch-wise performance.
Service: Service inflow, workshop revenue, productivity, customer retention and complaint reduction.
Spare Parts: Parts sales, availability, inventory control and reduction of ageing stock.
Customer Satisfaction: Customer feedback, complaint resolution and improvement in Sales/Service satisfaction.
Financial Performance: Revenue growth, expense control, outstanding management and dealership profitability.
People Management: Employee productivity, manpower stability, discipline, training and development of department/branch leaders.
Operations: Process compliance, reporting accuracy, branch standards and implementation of Management/TVS instructions.
AUTHORITY & ACCOUNTABILITY The General Manager is authorized to supervise and coordinate all dealership departments within the authority delegated by Management.
Major financial commitments, salary revisions, recruitment of senior positions, termination decisions, major discounts, capital expenditure, and policy changes shall be implemented only after obtaining the required Management approval.
The General Manager is accountable for the overall business performance, operational discipline, customer satisfaction, team productivity, and profitability of Kamala TVS.
EXPECTED LEADERSHIP STANDARD The General Manager is expected to lead from the front, maintain professional discipline, take ownership of business results, develop the team, resolve operational problems promptly, and maintain effective communication between Management and employees.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
