LA People is a Delhi-based fashion product development and garment manufacturing company working with fashion startups, emerging brands and established brands across womenswear, menswear and kidswear.

We are looking for a Fashion Design and Product Development Intern who has completed their fashion designing course and wants to understand what actually happens after you learn to design a garment.

This internship is about getting real exposure to the fashion industry, live client projects and the product development process .

What you will work on

You will get hands-on exposure to:

- Joining client consultation calls and understanding their requirements
- Understanding a client's design language, references and expectations
- Developing flat sketches based on client requirements
- Working on design iterations and modifications based on client feedback
- Researching fabrics and suggesting suitable options
- Understanding garment construction and technical requirements
- Assisting with preparation of professional tech packs
- Understanding measurements, specifications and production requirements
- Coordinating with the design and production teams
- Understanding how a design moves from an initial idea to a production ready garment
- Communicating with clients and understanding how professional design discussions happen
- Getting practical exposure to sampling and product development

Who we are looking for

This internship is ideal for someone who has:





- Completed a degree or course in Fashion Design
- A good understanding of fashion design fundamentals
- Knowledge of flat sketches and tech packs is must
- Good understanding of fabrics and garment construction
- Interest in fashion product development, not just creative design
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to speak with clients and understand their requirements
- A strong eye for detail
- Ability to take feedback and improve quickly
- A portfolio or examples of your fashion design work

Working Days: Monday to Saturday

Stipend: This is currently an unpaid internship opportunity.

This internship can also lead to a full-time opportunity at LA People. Candidates who perform well and demonstrate the right skills, initiative and attitude may be offered a full-time role after completing the internship.
