Job Purpose To supervise and control all welding and fabrication activities on the shop floor, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and delivery schedules are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

- Shop Floor Supervision
- Supervise daily welding and fabrication activities.
- Allocate manpower and work assignments to welders and fabricators.
- Monitor production progress and ensure work is completed as per schedule.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Planning, and Stores departments.
- Welding Operations
- Supervise welding activities such as SMAW, MIG/MAG, FCAW and other applicable welding processes.
- Ensure correct welding procedures, parameters, consumables, and techniques are followed.
- Check welding sequence, joint preparation, fit-up, alignment, and distortion control.
- Ensure welding is carried out as per approved drawings, WPS and customer requirements.
- Quality Control
- Ensure weld quality meets drawing and customer specifications.
- Coordinate with QC inspectors for fit-up, visual inspection and NDT requirements.
- Identify welding defects and arrange necessary corrective and repair work.
- Maintain proper welding and production records.
- Manpower Management
- Monitor the performance and productivity of welders and helpers.
- Ensure proper utilization of manpower and welding machines.
- Guide workers on correct welding practices and fabrication methods.
- Identify training requirements and improve workforce skills.
- Drawing & Technical Understanding
- Read and understand fabrication drawings, welding symbols, dimensions and tolerances.




- Ensure fabrication is carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Verify material identification, joint details and welding requirements before starting work.
- Production & Delivery
- Monitor daily production against planned targets.
- Minimize rework, rejection, material wastage and production delays.
- Coordinate with the planning team to prioritize urgent jobs.
- Ensure fabricated components are completed and handed over for the next process on time.

Required Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Welding, Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant welding/fabrication certification will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of welding processes, fabrication methods and shop-floor practices.

Experience
- 2–10 years of relevant experience in heavy fabrication / structural fabrication / welding supervision.
- Experience in handling a team of welders and fabricators.
- Experience in heavy engineering or industrial fabrication will be preferred.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
