The company works on large-scale technology, engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance projects involving sophisticated electronic and electrical systems, equipment and components.

We are looking for an experienced Purchase & Vendor Development Manager with strong hands-on experience in electronics industry procurement, sourcing, supplier management and vendor development.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the complete procurement cycle for electronic components, equipment, assemblies and related materials while developing reliable and cost-effective vendor networks.

? Key Responsibilities1. Purchase & Procurement – Electronics

- Manage end-to-end procurement of electronic components, equipment, systems, assemblies and related materials.
- Identify and develop reliable manufacturers, distributors, OEMs, authorized suppliers and electronics vendors.
- Handle procurement of PCBs, PCB assemblies, electronic modules, connectors, cables, sensors, displays, power supplies, SMPS, switches, relays, communication equipment, networking equipment and other electronic components.
- Float RFQs and obtain quotations from qualified suppliers.
- Conduct technical and commercial evaluation of vendor quotations.
- Prepare comparative statements and purchase recommendations.
- Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranty, replacement terms and other commercial conditions.
- Generate and release Purchase Orders after required approvals.
- Ensure timely availability of materials as per project, production and operational requirements.

Vendor

Development

- Develop and maintain a strong network of electronics industry vendors and suppliers.
- Identify new vendors based on technical capability, quality, pricing, capacity and delivery performance.
- Conduct vendor evaluation and qualification.
- Develop alternate sources for critical electronic components and materials.
- Negotiate competitive pricing and improved commercial terms.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with key suppliers.
- Monitor vendor performance based on Quality, Cost, Delivery and Service.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Projects and Quality teams to identify suitable vendors.

3.

Electronics Industry

Sourcing The candidate must have practical experience in sourcing materials from the electronics industry.

Relevant sourcing experience may include:

4. RFQ, Negotiation & Cost Control

- Prepare and release RFQs to appropriate vendors.
- Analyze quotations and prepare commercial comparison statements.
- Negotiate with vendors for competitive pricing.
- Work toward procurement cost optimization without compromising required specifications and quality.
- Monitor market prices and supplier trends.
- Identify cost-saving and alternate-sourcing opportunities.
- Maintain vendor price databases and procurement records.
- Support project-specific and annual procurement cost planning.

5. Purchase Order & Material Follow-up

- Prepare and process Purchase Orders after obtaining required approvals.
- Ensure PO terms accurately reflect approved specifications and negotiated commercial conditions.
- Follow up with suppliers for timely dispatch and delivery.
- Track open and pending purchase orders.
- Coordinate with Stores, Production, Projects and Finance regarding material receipt and payment status.
- Resolve issues related to delayed delivery, shortages, damages, incorrect material and quality discrepancies.

6. Supplier Management

- Maintain an updated supplier and vendor database.
- Develop strategic relationships with key suppliers.
- Monitor supplier capacity, lead times and delivery commitments.
- Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews.
- Negotiate improved credit and payment terms wherever possible.
- Ensure suppliers comply with company and project requirements.
- Develop alternate/backup suppliers for critical materials.

7. Cross-Functional CoordinationThe candidate will work closely with:

to understand material requirements, technical specifications, project timelines and commercial requirements. 8. Documentation & MIS

- Maintain complete procurement documentation.
- Prepare vendor comparison statements, purchase reports, pending PO reports and procurement MIS.
- Maintain vendor quotations and negotiation records.
- Track PO status and material delivery schedules.
- Maintain supplier performance records.
- Provide regular procurement updates and reports to management.

Required Skills & Competencies




- Strong knowledge of electronics industry procurement and sourcing.
- Strong vendor development and supplier negotiation skills.
- Good understanding of electronic components, assemblies and equipment.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of RFQ, quotation evaluation, comparative statements and PO processes.
- Ability to identify and develop new electronics suppliers.
- Knowledge of vendor evaluation and qualification.
- Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple procurement requirements simultaneously.
- Valuable analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good command of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Experience with ERP / procurement software will be an advantage.
- Ability to work in a project-driven and deadline-oriented environment.

6. Candidates with only general purchase experience from unrelated industries such as FMCG, Retail, Hospitality, Textiles, etc. will NOT be considered.

7. Hands-on experience in electronics sourcing, vendor development, procurement and supplier management is required.
