A Site Electrical Engineer is responsible for supervising and coordinating electrical work at a construction/project site, ensuring the installation is safe, compliant, and completed according to drawings and specifications.

Key Job Responsibilities

- Supervise electrical installation works at the project site.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, and BOQ before and during execution.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and other site teams.
- Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure work follows approved drawings and standards.
- Inspect installation of:
- LT panels and switchgear
- Transformers and DG sets
- Cable trays and cable laying
- Lighting and power systems
- Earthing and lightning protection
- Fire alarm and other ELV systems
- Motors and electrical equipment
- Check cable sizes, routing, termination, glanding, and dressing.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Prepare and maintain daily progress reports, inspection reports, checklists, and documentation.
- Coordinate with consultants/client representatives for inspections and approvals.
- Identify site issues and resolve technical problems.
- Monitor work progress against the project schedule.
- Ensure electrical work complies with applicable IS/IEC standards,



project specifications, and safety requirements.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and secure electrical working practices.
- Check material deliveries and verify materials against approved specifications.
- Raise RFIs/technical queries when drawings or site conditions require clarification.
- Assist with estimation, quantity verification, and measurement of completed work.
- Prepare or review as-built drawings and handover documentation.
- Support testing, commissioning, snag rectification, and final project handover.
