Summary The SharePoint Solution Engineer Developer 2 designs, develops, supports, and continuously improves modern Microsoft 365 collaboration solutions, with a primary focus on SharePoint Online. The role partners with business stakeholders, solution owners, and technology teams to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, user-centered, and maintainable digital solutions.
This position emphasizes contemporary collaboration, information architecture, workflow automation, governance, self-service enablement, and user experience optimization rather than legacy platform administration.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and enhance SharePoint Online communication sites, team sites, hub sites, pages, document libraries, lists, and navigation structures.
- Develop scalable collaboration and content management solutions aligned with business needs, governance standards, and operational support requirements.
- Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and translate needs into solution designs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and documentation.
- Recommend and implement appropriate Microsoft 365 solutions using SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, Power Automate, Forms, Teams, and related technologies.
- Build, maintain, and optimize workflow automation solutions for approvals, notifications, task management, document processing, and business process efficiency.
- Administer site configurations, permissions, access models, content organization, retention settings, and lifecycle management practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to content management, permissions, search, metadata, workflows, integrations, and user experience.
- Develop reusable templates, standards, governance practices, and self-service capabilities to improve consistency and reduce manual effort.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, training materials, and knowledge resources.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, infrastructure, security, business analysis, and external partners.
Essential Functions of the Role
- Design and deliver modern SharePoint Online solutions that support collaboration, content management, and business productivity.
- Configure and maintain information architecture components, including site structures, metadata, content types, navigation, and document management capabilities.
- Develop and support Power Automate workflows and Microsoft 365 integrations to streamline business processes.
- Manage SharePoint permissions, Microsoft 365 groups, and access governance practices while supporting secure collaboration.
- Engage directly with stakeholders to identify requirements, evaluate solution options, and deliver effective business outcomes.
- Monitor solution performance, adoption, and operational effectiveness, implementing improvements where appropriate.
- Provide ongoing documentation, user enablement, knowledge transfer, and support for implemented solutions.
Education and Work Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4-6 years of professional experience delivering SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 collaboration solutions.
- Demonstrated experience with SharePoint Online, including modern site design, content management, information architecture, and governance.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating requirements into technical solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Power Automate and workflow/process automation.
- Knowledge of permissions management, Microsoft 365 groups, identity concepts, and access governance.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Education and Work Preferences
- Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform, Teams, Security, or Compliance.
- Experience with Power Apps, Power BI, Microsoft Forms, Teams integrations, or related Microsoft technologies.
- Knowledge of C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, PowerShell, JSON, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Microsoft Graph, REST integrations, or SharePoint customization approaches.
- Exposure to legacy SharePoint technologies, migration tools, or workflow modernization initiatives.
- Experience with AI-assisted productivity, automation, or collaboration solutions.
