Help us bring 10 years of data showcasing India's changing landscape to life.
The Opportunity
Land Conflict Watch (LCW), an initiative of Nutgraph –
- Social Data Lab, has spent the last ten years documenting negotiations around land and natural resources across India. Built through a distributed network of field researchers, the LCW database brings together evidence on communities, institutions, laws, investments, ecosystems and development projects.
Together, these records offer a distinctive window into some of the transformations reshaping India: urbanisation and infrastructure, changing rural economies, forest and coastal governance, the energy transition, climate change, conservation and evolving relationships between citizens, markets and the state.
To mark ten years of this work, we are working on a five-day public exhibition that transforms this large body of data, reporting and field documentation into an immersive and accessible experience.
To support this process, we are looking for two design interns who are curious about exhibition-making and interested in exploring how complex research, data and field documentation can be translated into an engaging visual and experiential narrative.
The role will involve working closely with the curatorial and communications teams, contributing to research, visual development, exhibition design and production, and supporting the process of bringing the exhibition from concept to the public floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Exhibition Concept &
- Design: Assist with developing the exhibition concept and visual direction by conducting research, supporting the curator with design ideas, mock-ups and prototypes, preparing artwork and production files, sourcing photographs,
illustrations and archival material, and helping maintain a consistent visual language across the exhibition.
- Team Coordination: Work closely with the curator and LCW’s Communications, Research, Editorial and Design teams throughout the exhibition process. Help coordinate between teams, share updates, and incorporate feedback into designs and exhibition materials.
- Vendor &
- Production Coordination: Coordinate with printers, fabricators, signage vendors and other production partners. This includes comparing materials and production options, collecting quotations, following up on timelines and deliverables, reviewing proofs and samples, tracking production, and helping resolve issues or last-minute changes.
- Venue &
- Installation Support: Visit the exhibition venue and assist with measurements, site planning and installation. Coordinate with the venue team and support the placement of panels, signage, objects and other exhibition elements, while helping troubleshoot any last-minute production or installation issues.
- Project &
- Administrative Support: Help keep the exhibition organised by maintaining trackers for tasks, vendors, deadlines and deliverables; keeping records of quotations and vendor details; assisting with presentations and documentation; and documenting the exhibition process and final installation.
- Guest &
- Event Coordination: Assist with planning and managing exhibition-related events by preparing guest lists, coordinating invitations and RSVPs, following up with invitees, partners and collaborators, tracking confirmations, and supporting guest registration and coordination on the day of the event.
What We're Looking For
- Final-year students or recent graduates in design,
visual communication, graphic design, communication design, architecture, fine arts, or related fields.
- Young professionals with an interest in exhibition design, curation, visual storytelling, events, or experience design.
- Demonstrable experience through projects, internships, freelance work, exhibitions, conferences, events, or other relevant projects.
- Comfortable working across both creative and practical aspects of exhibition-making, from research and visual development to production and coordination.

- Proficiency in English.
