We are seeking experienced Database Engineers to support a cloud-focused database engineering team. This role will require candidates to support and optimize PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL databases in AWS production environments, ensuring strong performance, availability, and reliability. Partner with application, infrastructure, security, and platform teams to troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive long-term improvements.

Continuously improve database performance through query tuning, execution plan analysis, monitoring, and automation while supporting cloud-native database operations and best practices. automate and modernize database operations.

Skills and Requirements

- Deep PostgreSQL expertise, preferably Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL in large-scale production environments
- Proven ownership of production database platforms, including reliability, availability, monitoring, and incident response
- Advanced database performance tuning experience, including query optimization, execution plan analysis, indexing strategy, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting complex production issues
- Robust hands-on experience with AWS database services, particularly Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS
- Experience partnering with application, infrastructure, security, and platform engineering teams to resolve issues and improve platform performance
- Strong observability and monitoring experience, including identifying performance trends,



establishing alerts, and maintaining database health
- Experience advising development teams on database architecture, schema design, data modeling, and application performance
- Experience with DynamoDB or other NoSQL database technologies
- Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, CI/CD, and database automation experience
- Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Experience leading root cause investigations and driving long-term corrective actions
- Oracle DBA experience (for one of the openings)
