The HVAC Cost Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, BOQs, quotations, and commercial proposals for HVAC projects. The role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, calculating quantities, obtaining vendor quotations, analyzing project costs, and supporting the sales and project teams in commercial decision-making.
1. Key Responsibilities
Study HVAC drawings, specifications, BOQs, tender documents, and project requirements. Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for HVAC works.
Prepare project-wise BOQ and cost estimates for HVAC systems.
Estimate the quantity and cost of:
AHU, FCU, VRF/VRV and Chiller systems
Ducting and insulation
Chilled water piping
Refrigerant piping
Pumps and valves
Grilles, diffusers and louvers
Cooling towers
Ventilation and exhaust systems
Electrical/control requirements related to HVAC
Installation, testing and commissioning
Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Prepare material and labour cost calculations.
Calculate installation, transportation, wastage, overhead and other applicable costs.
Prepare competitive commercial quotations and tender submissions.
Coordinate with the Sales, Design, Purchase, Projects and Accounts teams.
Identify missing items, exclusions, assumptions and potential cost risks in tender documents.
Verify vendor quotations and negotiate rates where required.
Maintain updated databases of material, labour, subcontractor and equipment rates.
Prepare rate analysis and cost comparison statements.
Review revised drawings and calculate the commercial impact of design changes.
Support the sales team during negotiations with clients.
Maintain proper records of estimates, quotations and tender submissions.
Ensure estimates are prepared accurately and submitted within the required deadline.
1. Required Skills
Good knowledge of HVAC systems and components. Strong understanding of HVAC BOQ and quantity take-off.
Knowledge of HVAC material specifications and market rates.
Good knowledge of MS Excel.
Ability to read and understand HVAC drawings.
Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
Good analytical and numerical skills.
Valuable communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to compare supplier/subcontractor quotations.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tender deadlines.
1. Educational Qualification
Preferred Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
HVAC / MEP-related certification will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹15,715.08 - ₹48,168.59 per month
