About the RoleAlignEye is looking for a creative and performance-focused Video Editor to work with us on a contractual basis.

The role will primarily involve editing Instagram Reels, short-form social media videos, product videos, founder/startup content, promotional videos, event videos, and other video content based on our requirements.

We are not just looking for someone who can cut clips together. We want someone who understands attention, storytelling, pacing, retention, hooks, captions, sound design, and what makes people keep watching a video.

The editor will work closely with the AlignEye team to transform raw footage, scripts, ideas, and references into engaging content that strengthens our brand and improves our social media performance.

- Require minimal guidance after understanding the brief
- Are delivered within agreed timelines

Responsibilities
- Edit engaging and high-quality Instagram Reels and short-form videos.
- Convert raw footage into structured, engaging, and visually appealing content.
- Create strong hooks within the first 1–3 seconds of videos.
- Improve video retention through effective pacing, cuts, B-roll, transitions, captions, zooms, graphics, and visual changes.
- Add subtitles, motion graphics, music, sound effects, and other visual elements where required.
- Edit product demonstrations, startup content, promotional videos, founder videos, event videos, and marketing content.
- Understand video references provided by the team and recreate similar editing styles while maintaining AlignEye's brand identity.




- Select appropriate music, B-roll, stock footage, memes, graphics, and sound effects when required.
- Perform basic colour correction, audio enhancement, masking, tracking, and motion effects when necessary.
- Optimize videos for platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, and other social media channels.
- Suggest improvements to hooks, storytelling, pacing, or video structure when you believe they can improve performance.
- Work collaboratively with the AlignEye team and incorporate feedback and revisions.
- Organize project files properly and maintain editable source files.
- Deliver videos within mutually agreed deadlines.

Qualifications
- Strong video editing skills with a good understanding of short-form content and social media trends.
- Experience editing Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok-style videos, advertisements, or similar short-form content.
- Strong understanding of hooks, audience retention, storytelling, pacing, and viewer engagement.
- Proficiency in at least one professional editing tool such as:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Adobe After Effects
- DaVinci Resolve
- CapCut
- Final Cut Pro
- or equivalent software
- Good understanding of captions, typography, transitions, sound design, music selection, and motion graphics.
- Ability to recreate an editing style from a provided reference video.
- Strong attention to detail and visual consistency.
- Ability to work independently and understand briefs without requiring constant supervision.
- Positive communication skills and openness to feedback.
- Ability to meet agreed deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with startups, D2C brands, creators, or social media agencies.
- Experience editing product-focused or technology-related content.
- Knowledge of current Instagram and short-form content trends.
- Experience creating videos that have achieved strong views, engagement, or retention.
- Basic knowledge of content strategy, social media marketing, or performance marketing is an advantage.
