About The Role We are seeking a Night Planner to manage day-to-day UK transportation planning and execution activities during the night shift. The role focuses on Transportation Management Systems (TMS), shipment planning, load optimization, carrier tendering, and capacity management . The candidate will work independently after training and coordinate with UK stakeholders, carriers, and 3PL partners.

The Night Planner will create, review, and optimize transportation plans in a TMS, including managing unassigned freight and loads. The role requires re-planning based on operational changes, customer priorities, site requirements, and available transport capacity.

The position also involves releasing load tenders, monitoring carrier responses, resolving planning failures and data exceptions, and completing shipment execution activities. Accurate shift handovers, documentation, process compliance, and timely communication are key aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities

- Create, review, and optimize transportation plans in the TMS.
- Manage unassigned freight units and loads and perform manual planning interventions when required.
- Re-optimize plans based on operational changes, customer priorities, site requirements, and transport capacity.
- Create and release load tenders and coordinate with carriers and 3PL partners to secure coverage.
- Review system reports and resolve planning failures, unassigned loads, and data exceptions.




- Finalize shipment plans and complete load confirmation, posting, and critical transport movement monitoring.
- Maintain accurate shift-handover records covering open activities, risks, dependencies, and required actions.
- Communicate with UK stakeholders, carriers, and 3PL partners to support smooth transportation execution.

Required Skills

- Hands-on experience in transportation planning, logistics operations, or supply chain execution
- Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

- Carrier tendering and capacity management
- SAP TM/TMS and/or Blue Yonder experience
- Strong spoken and written English
- Problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills
- Microsoft Excel
- Operational reporting and documentation
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
- Willingness to work permanently on the specified night/early-morning shift from the vendor workspace
- Solid process compliance, accuracy, handover, and ownership

Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have 4–5 years of experience in transportation planning, logistics, or supply chain execution , with practical knowledge of TMS-based shipment and load planning. The candidate should be comfortable working independently during night shifts and communicating effectively with UK stakeholders, carriers, and 3PL partners.
