Role Description The Business Development Manager – Fashion & Lifestyle is a full-time, in office role based in Kurla. This role is responsible for identifying and developing current business opportunities, including retail partnerships, wholesale accounts, and collaborations that expand Silk Kabira’s market reach. Typical activities include researching potential clients, pitching collections, negotiating terms, and building long-term relationships with buyers and partners.
The Business Development
Manager will track sales performance, analyze market trends, and provide feedback to design and merchandising teams to align collections with customer demand. The role also involves coordinating with marketing to support campaigns,
participating in events or exhibitions, and ensuring consistent brand representation across all channels.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management within the fashion, apparel, or lifestyle sector.
Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders such as retailers, distributors, and partners.
Solid understanding of fashion and lifestyle market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive positioning.
Comfort with data analysis, basic sales forecasting, and reporting to inform decision-making and growth strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting collections and business proposals with clarity and confidence.
Ability to work on-site in Kurla, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and manage time and priorities in a quick-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Management, or a related field; relevant industry experience may substitute for formal education.
Prior experience working with fashion brands, boutiques, or lifestyle retailers, and familiarity with local and regional market dynamics is an advantage.
