Hence assurance is being increasingly required on industry issues, business risks and key business processes. The Governance, Risk & Compliance Services practice assists companies and public sector bodies to mitigate risk, improve performance and create value.

Job Purpose To conduct concurrent audits across all banking operations and functional areas, ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory guidelines, internal policies, risk management frameworks, and operational controls. The role is responsible for identifying control gaps, process deficiencies, potential frauds, revenue leakages, and operational risks across the bank's branches, business units, and centralized processing centers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Audit Coverage
Perform concurrent audit of the bank's key operational and business areas including:
- Retail Banking Operations
- Corporate and Commercial Banking
- Treasury Operations
- Trade Finance
- Credit Administration and Monitoring
- Digital Banking Channels
- Cash Management Services
- Remittances and Payment Systems
- Foreign Exchange Transactions
- Deposits and Customer Service Operations
- AML/KYC Compliance
- Priority Sector Lending
- Government Business Transactions
- Wealth Management Operations
- Centralized Processing Units (CPU/CPC)
- Loan Processing Hubs
- Vendor Management Processes
2. Operational Audit
- Verify adherence to approved policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
- Review transaction processing controls and exception handling.
- Assess operational efficiency and adequacy of controls.
- Evaluate maker-checker controls and authorization mechanisms.
- Identify process gaps, irregularities, and operational risks.
3. Credit Audit
- Review sanction, disbursement, documentation, and post-disbursement monitoring processes.
- Verify compliance with approved credit terms and conditions.
- Assess early warning signals and asset quality indicators.
- Evaluate monitoring of stressed assets and NPA accounts.
- Review security creation, valuation, and charge registration compliance.
4. Regulatory Compliance Review
- Verify compliance with RBI guidelines, FEMA regulations, and other statutory requirements.
- Assess KYC, AML, CFT, FATCA, and customer due diligence compliance.
- Review regulatory reporting accuracy and timeliness.
- Evaluate adherence to internal risk and compliance frameworks.
5. Fraud Risk Management
- Identify unusual transactions and potential fraud indicators.
- Review suspicious transaction alerts and escalation mechanisms.
- Assess effectiveness of fraud prevention and detection controls.
- Report red flags and recommend preventive measures.
6. Reporting and Follow-up
- Prepare detailed audit observations supported by evidence.
- Classify findings based on risk severity.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Track closure of audit findings and management responses.
- Escalate critical issues to senior management on a timely basis.
