Job Overview

We are looking for a Regulatory Certification Engineer to join our Indian Approvals team. The candidate will be responsible for managing product certification and regulatory approval projects in India, including BIS, WPC, TEC/MTCTE and other applicable regulatory requirements .

The role involves understanding product technologies and specifications, identifying applicable Indian regulations, reviewing technical and test documentation, coordinating with customers and laboratories, preparing certification applications, and managing projects through to successful approval.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage regulatory certification projects involving:
- BIS Certification
- WPC / ETA Approvals
- TEC / MTCTE Certification
- NCCS / ITSAR requirements
- Other applicable Indian regulatory approvals
- Review product specifications, datasheets, user manuals, block diagrams, schematics and technical documentation.
- Identify applicable Indian standards, regulations, schemes and certification requirements based on product type and technology.
- Review and evaluate EMC, RF, Safety and other test reports for regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with customers to collect technical and administrative documents required for certification.
- Coordinate with accredited test laboratories for testing, quotations, test plans and technical clarifications.




- Prepare and review certification documentation and application packages.
- Submit and manage applications through relevant regulatory portals, including BIS, WPC/Saral Sanchar and TEC/MTCTE portals .
- Track certification applications and coordinate responses to regulatory queries and observations.
- Communicate certification requirements, project status, documentation gaps and timelines to customers.
- Coordinate with internal technical teams, laboratories and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain project trackers and certification records.
- Monitor changes in Indian regulations, standards, notifications and certification schemes.
- Support customers in determining the appropriate regulatory pathway for recent products entering the Indian market.
- Prepare technical proposals, certification quotations and project timelines when required.
- Manage multiple certification projects simultaneously and ensure timely completion.
- Participate in customer meetings and technical discussions to understand product configurations and regulatory requirements.

Regulatory Knowledge Experience or familiarity with any of the following will be preferred:

BIS

- BIS CRS / ISI certification
- Product-specific BIS requirements
- Applicable Indian Standards
- BIS registration/certification process
- Factory / manufacturing documentation
- Test report review

WPC

- WPC ETA
- RF test report review
- Frequency and power requirements
- Wireless technology assessment
- Saral Sanchar portal
- WPC/DoT notifications and requirements

Experience 1–3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
