Role purpose The Commercial Manager owns the company's books, statutory compliance and cash cycle end to end. The role keeps accounts accurate and audit-ready, files every GST and TDS return on time, controls payments and collections, prepares export bank documents, and gives management a reliable monthly MIS to run the business on.

Reports to : Commercial Director

Reportees: 2 Accounts & Payables/MIS accounts/purchase executives

Key responsibilities

1. Accounting and books of account

· Maintain complete, accurate books in Tally Prime (or the ERP in use): sales, purchase, journal, bank and cash entries. · Reconcile bank, cash, vendor, customer and inter-company accounts every month.

· Manage fixed asset register, depreciation, inventory valuation and month-end provisions.

· Close books monthly by the 7th and prepare quarterly and annual financial statements.

· Coordinate with statutory, internal and tax auditors; prepare audit schedules and close audit points.

· Support income tax, advance tax and ROC filings with the external CA.

1. GST compliance

· File GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and other periodic returns on time; prepare GSTR-9 / 9C annual returns. · Reconcile input tax credit with GSTR-2A / 2B every month and follow up with vendors on mismatches.

· Generate and control e-invoices and e-way bills.

· Process export refunds (LUT / IGST refunds) and keep the annual LUT current.

· Handle GST notices, assessments and departmental queries with the consultant.

1. TDS / TCS compliance

· Deduct TDS correctly on vendor, contractor, professional, rent and salary payments. · Deposit TDS / TCS by the due date and file quarterly returns (24Q, 26Q, 27EQ).

· Issue Form 16 / 16A and reconcile with Form 26AS and TRACES.

· Resolve TRACES defaults and short-deduction notices.

1. Payments (accounts payable)

· Verify vendor bills against PO and GRN before booking. · Prepare weekly payment runs within the approved budget and cash position, for Director approval.

· Maintain vendor master, credit terms and MSME vendor tracking (45-day payment rule under Sec 43B(h)).

· Process statutory payments: GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, professional tax.

1. Accounts receivable and collections

· Raise invoices and credit / debit notes accurately and on time.



· Track customer ageing weekly and drive collections with the sales team.

· Enforce customer credit limits and flag overdue accounts before fresh dispatches.

· Reconcile customer ledgers and obtain balance confirmations.

1. Export documentation and banking

· Prepare export documents: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and shipping bill coordination with CHA. · Submit export documents to the bank under LC, DP / DA or advance terms and track realisation.

· Ensure EDPMS / IDPMS reconciliation and timely closure of export and import bills with the AD bank.

· Handle foreign remittances, FIRC / e-BRC, forex conversion and hedging inputs.

· Claim export incentives such as RoDTEP and duty drawback.

· Manage banking relationships, working-capital limits, stock statements and bank renewals.

1. MIS and reporting

· Deliver the monthly MIS pack by the 10th: P&L;, product / customer margins, cash flow, receivables and payables ageing. · Prepare a weekly cash and fund-flow forecast.

· Track budget versus actual and flag cost overruns.

· Support costing of products and pricing decisions with the Director.

· Coordinate with CA for Tax Audits/ Internal Audits and Strategic consultants

1. Team leadership

· Lead, train and allocate work to the team of 2. · Set monthly compliance calendar and review the team's output.

· Build SOPs and internal controls so work runs without single-person dependency.

Qualifications and skills

Must have

· CA / CMA (Inter or Final), or M.Com / MBA Finance with strong hands-on accounting.

· 8–12 years in accounts, taxation and commercial roles; 3+ years managing a team.

· Working knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, FEMA and RBI export-import rules.

· Hands-on experience with export documentation, LC / DP / DA, EDPMS and AD bank processes.

· Expert in Tally Prime; advanced Excel (pivots, lookups, MIS templates).

· Comfortable with GST portal, TRACES, ICEGATE, DGFT and bank portals.

Good to have

· Experience in a chemical or specialty manufacturing company.

· Exposure to ERP (SAP B1, Zoho Books or similar) and product costing.

· Working-capital and bank limit management.
