To carry out chipping, gas cutting, riser and runner removal, fettling, and related casting finishing activities safely and efficiently as per production and quality requirements.

1. Key Responsibilities

- Perform chipping and gas cutting operations on castings as per work instructions.
- Remove risers, runners, gates, excess metal, and unwanted portions from castings.
- Carry out gas cutting using Oxygen and LPG/appropriate cutting gas as per approved procedure.
- Operate chipping tools, gas cutting equipment, grinders, and other fettling tools safely.
- Check the casting before and after cutting for visible defects, excess material, cracks, and dimensional issues.
- Ensure proper cutting location as per drawing, pattern, marking, or supervisor instructions.
- Avoid excess metal removal and prevent damage to the casting during cutting/chipping.
- Carry out basic grinding and finishing after gas cutting wherever required.
- Segregate finished, rejected, and rework castings as instructed.
- Maintain proper identification and traceability of castings during the process.
- Follow production plans and complete assigned work within the required time.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping of the work area.
- Follow 5S practices at the workplace.
- Use required PPE such as safety helmet, safety shoes, gloves, goggles/face shield, apron, and other required safety equipment.
- Follow all safety precautions while handling gas cylinders, hoses, regulators, cutting torches, and compressed gases.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment problems, gas leakage, or abnormalities immediately to the supervisor.
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition and report defects.
- Follow company safety rules,



quality requirements, and standard operating procedures.
- Support inspection and rework activities as instructed by the supervisor.
- Perform any other production/fettling-related duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

1. Safety Responsibilities

- Strictly follow gas cutting and hot-work safety procedures.
- Check gas hoses, regulators, torch, and connections before starting work.
- Ensure proper positioning and handling of gas cylinders.
- Keep flammable materials away from the cutting area.
- Use appropriate fire protection arrangements during gas cutting.
- Never operate defective or damaged equipment.
- Immediately report gas leakage, fire hazards, or unsafe working conditions.
- Follow all emergency and fire-safety procedures.

1. Required Skills

- Basic knowledge of gas cutting and chipping operations.
- Ability to identify risers, runners, gates, and excess metal on castings.
- Ability to follow drawings, markings, work instructions, and supervisor instructions.
- Basic understanding of casting quality and finishing requirements.
- Good hand-tool handling skills.
- Ability to work safely in a foundry/fettling environment.
- Physical ability to handle casting-related work.
- Discipline, punctuality, and teamwork.

1. Qualification

Education: ITI / 10th Pass or equivalent technical qualification. Preferred Trade: Fitter / Welder / Gas Cutter / relevant technical trade.

1. Experience

Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in foundry, steel casting, fabrication, fettling, gas cutting, or similar manufacturing operations. Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹29,951.24 per month
