Position: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Location: Chhatral, Gandhinagar (only locals required)

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (Mandatory); MBA in Operations (Preferred)

Experience Required:

- 15–20 years of experience in Manufacturing Operations
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as Plant Head / General Manager (Operations/Manufacturing) in a company with ₹100 Cr – ₹200 Cr turnover or more
- Experience in Tube / Pipe, heavy engineering manufacturing or steel industry preferred
- Strong exposure to Supply Chain Management (SCM), Operational Excellence (OPEX), Production Planning, Maintenance, and Quality Systems

Salary: ₹3,00,000 per month and above (based on experience and competency)

Job Purpose The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for overall plant operations, including Production, Supply Chain Management, Maintenance, Quality, and Workforce Management. The role requires driving a performance-oriented culture through operational efficiency, productivity improvement, and compliance with IATF, QEHS, and ISO standards.

The position will also oversee HR-related operational functions including retention time, ramp-up time, workforce recruitment, training implementation, and policy execution related to employee performance, pay structures, promotions, and benefits.

The employee will have authority commensurate with the responsibilities assigned to the position, including authority over budgeting, manpower planning and allocation,



rent and salary-related matters, and other operational requirements. The employee shall also have the authority to review and approve HR policies, subject to the overall management framework and applicable Company policies.

Job Profile / Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage overall plant operations including Production, Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Dispatch
- Ensure achievement of productivity, profitability, and operational targets through systematic reviews and audits
- Monitor daily production performance and ensure adherence to production schedules
- Implement and strengthen Production Planning & Control (PPC) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems
- Coordinate with Procurement, Stores, and Dispatch teams for smooth material flow and inventory management
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Operational Excellence, and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Identify opportunities for productivity enhancement, waste reduction, and cost optimization
- Ensure adherence to ISO standards, Quality Management Systems, QEHS, and IATF compliance requirements
- Establish preventive and breakdown maintenance systems to minimize downtime and improve machine efficiency




- Build and maintain a high-performance culture across departments through accountability and KPI-driven management
- Develop team capabilities through training, mentoring, and performance reviews
- Implement and ensure compliance with HR policies, systems, and workforce management practices
- Manage recruitment, retention time, and ramp-up time for staff and workers
- Conduct regular operational reviews and present reports on productivity, costs, efficiency, and improvement initiatives to management
- Ensure proper coordination between cross-functional departments for smooth plant operations

Technical Skills Required

- Robust experience in Manufacturing Operations & Operational Excellence
- Expertise in Supply Chain Management (SCM), Production Planning, PPC, and Maintenance Management
- Hands-on knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Balanced Scorecard, and Continuous Improvement frameworks
- Strong understanding of ISO Standards, Quality Systems, QEHS, and IATF requirements
- Experience in Training Need Identification (TNI), workforce development, and HR implementation

Soft Skills Required

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and review management abilities
- Must be proactive in target setting and performance monitoring capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
- Excellent leadership, team management, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in English, Hindi, and regional communication preferred
- High level of integrity, accountability, and professional ethics
