Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Chemist – Quality Control (QC) with 5–7 years of hands-on experience in laboratory testing, chemical analysis, and quality control operations. The candidate will be responsible for conducting raw material, in-process, finished product, and stability/quality testing, maintaining laboratory records, ensuring compliance with approved specifications and test methods, and supporting the QC team in maintaining consistent product quality.

The ideal candidate should have strong analytical and laboratory skills, good documentation practices, and the ability to communicate clearly in English and Tamil. Knowledge of Hindi will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform chemical and physical testing of raw materials, intermediates, finished products, and other samples as per approved specifications and test methods.
- Carry out routine laboratory analysis using techniques such as titration, pH, moisture, density, viscosity, assay, and other applicable chemical tests.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment such as pH meter, analytical balance, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, moisture analyzer, conductivity meter, and other QC instruments, as applicable.
- Ensure all testing is performed accurately and within the defined timelines.
- Prepare and standardize laboratory reagents, solutions, and chemicals as per approved procedures.
- Record test observations, results, calculations, and analytical data accurately in laboratory records and relevant documentation.
- Review test results against approved specifications and immediately report out-of-specification (OOS), out-of-trend (OOT), or abnormal results to the QC Supervisor/Manager.




- Maintain proper Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and follow applicable SOPs, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Ensure proper identification, labeling, storage, and disposal of laboratory samples and chemicals.
- Perform calibration and routine verification of laboratory instruments as per schedules and SOPs.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping, safety, and chemical inventory.
- Support investigations related to OOS, deviations, customer complaints, and quality issues.
- Assist in preparation, review, and maintenance of SOPs, specifications, test methods, COAs, worksheets, logbooks, and other QC documentation.
- Coordinate with Production, QA, R&D;, Stores, and other departments regarding sampling and testing requirements.
- Ensure timely release of test reports and communicate critical quality observations to the concerned team.
- Participate in internal audits, external audits, and laboratory inspections when required.
- Follow all company policies related to EHS, chemical handling, PPE, and laboratory safety.

Required Qualifications

- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in Quality Control / Laboratory Testing.
- Hands-on experience in chemical analysis and routine QC laboratory operations.
- Experience in a manufacturing/chemical/pharmaceutical/FMCG/industrial laboratory environment will be preferred, depending on the industry.
- Good knowledge of laboratory practices, analytical procedures, documentation, and safety requirements.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Word.

Language & Communication Skills

- English: Strong verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
- Tamil: Ability to communicate effectively with the local workforce and internal teams.
- Hindi: Working knowledge is preferred/required for communication with Hindi-speaking employees and workers.
