We are seeking an experienced and skilled Indian Chef to join our professional kitchen team in New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian Indian dishes, while maintaining excellent taste, consistency, presentation and food safety standards.

The role will include

- Preparing and cooking Indian dishes according to recipes and required standards.

- Developing recent and creative dishes with modern presentation and plating.
- Preparing food efficiently and accurately during busy service periods.
- Managing multiple orders and kitchen tasks at the same time.
- Maintaining consistent food quality, portion sizes and presentation.
- Preparing mise en place and ensuring all ingredients are ready for service.
- Monitoring stock and informing management when ingredients are running low.
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, kitchen cleanliness and food safety.




- Cleaning and organising kitchen equipment, work surfaces, floors and storage areas, including regular wiping and mopping.
- Working cooperatively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members.
- Following workplace health and safety procedures.
- Minimising food waste and using ingredients efficiently.
- Staying calm and organised during busy periods and completing duties within required timeframes.
- Assisting with menu development and introducing new Indian dishes where appropriate.
- Taking responsibility for maintaining a clean, organised and professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate should be reliable, hardworking, organised, creative and able to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
