: Chartered Accountant

Job Purpose The Chartered Accountant will support the Finance team in general accounting, month-end closing, financial reporting, account reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, accruals, and audit compliance.

The role requires sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and the SAP FI module. The candidate will work closely with internal finance teams and business stakeholders to ensure that accounting records and reports are accurate, complete, and prepared within the required timelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Month-End Closing and Financial Reporting

· Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

· Prepare and post standard monthly accruals and other month-end journal entries.

· Prepare IFRS-related journal entries and supporting reconciliations.

· Assist with trial balance reviews and reconciliations.

· Ensure that all assigned closing activities are completed accurately and within the established deadlines.

2. General Ledger Accounting and Reconciliations

· Perform monthly General Ledger account reconciliations.

· Investigate and resolve reconciling items

· Review monthly expenses and update the expense-posting tracker.

· Prepare supporting schedules and working files for balance sheet accounts.

· Perform GR/IR reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items.

· Maintain proper documentation for journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting adjustments.

· Ensure that financial transactions are appropriately supported and recorded in the correct accounting period.

3. Intercompany Accounting

· Prepare intercompany Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable balance confirmations.

· Reconcile intercompany balances between different entities.

· Investigate and resolve intercompany differences.

· Coordinate with respective controllers and finance teams for timely balance confirmation and reconciliation.

4. Accruals and Journal Entries

· Prepare recurring and non-recurring accrual journal entries.





· Prepare expense, utility, claims, customer returns, and other business-related accruals.

· Prepare customer cash discount workings and corresponding journal entries.

· Assist with cost-of-sales journal entries and related supporting documentation.

· Review accruals periodically and ensure that required reversals or adjustments are recorded.

5. Sales, Inventory and Cost Reporting

· Prepare and update monthly sales reconciliation files.

· Assist with inventory-related reports and reconciliations.

· Support the preparation of cost-of-sales journal entries and analyses.

· Prepare rebates files and related year-to-date schedules.

· Assist with daily or periodic production and operational reporting.

· Prepare days-in-inventory reporting and other inventory-related analyses.

· Support reconciliation and reporting for warehouse, freight, artwork, tariff, and other operational costs

6. Management and Operational Reporting

· Prepare periodic reports, trackers, and supporting schedules for management.

· Support the preparation of information technology cost reports.

· Prepare temporary labour reports, summaries, accruals, and invoice coding.

· Maintain tariff trackers and circulate them to the relevant stakeholders.

· Assist with daily production reports and other site-level financial reporting.

· Ensure that periodic reports are accurate and distributed within the agreed timelines.

7. Compliance, Internal Controls and Audit Support

· Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, financial regulations, and internal control requirements.





· Follow the company’s accounting policies and approval procedures.

· Maintain complete and accurate supporting documentation for accounting transactions.

· Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and providing requested information.

· Identify accounting discrepancies or control issues and escalate them to the appropriate manager.

Qualification and Experience

· Chartered Accountant.

· Fresher or candidate with 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting experience.

· Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.

· Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.

· Working knowledge of the SAP FI module.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

· Candidate should be based in Goa.
