Business Analyst – BI & Reporting

Role Overview

We are seeking a Business Analyst to support the end-to-end delivery and maintenance of Qlik Cloud reporting solutions. The role will act as the primary link between business users, data teams, and the Qlik Cloud Developer—from understanding business requirements and identifying data sources through validation, UAT, sign-off, production launch, and ongoing support.

The Business Analyst will support new report development, enhancements to existing applications, production issues, ad hoc requests, ETL improvements, Qlik Cloud load optimizations, and user-access requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Work with business users and multiple business, data, and technical SPOCs to understand reporting objectives, pain points, and expected outcomes.
- Gather and document KPIs, measures, dimensions, filters, drill-down requirements, business rules, data definitions, security needs, and acceptance criteria.
- Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, report specifications, process flows, and dashboard mock-ups.
- Identify relevant data sources and coordinate with data owners to understand data availability, ownership, refresh frequency, historical requirements, and dependencies.
- Maintain KPI definitions, data dictionaries, business rules, source mappings, assumptions, decisions, and requirement traceability.
- Use basic-to-intermediate SQL querying skills
- Work closely with the Qlik Cloud Developer to clarify requirements, review technical feasibility, and resolve business or data-related questions.
- Review working prototypes before customer demonstrations and ensure they align with the agreed requirements and user experience.
- Facilitate mock-up and dashboard walkthroughs, capture stakeholder feedback, and convert approved changes into actionable requirements.
- Validate dashboards against source data, SQL outputs, business calculations, existing reports, and agreed control totals.




- Verify KPIs, filters, selections, drill-downs, calculations, data refreshes, user access, and overall report usability.
- Prepare UAT plans, test scenarios, test cases, expected results, and supporting test data.
- Coordinate UAT with business users, document defects and feedback, track items to closure, and support regression testing.
- Obtain formal business sign-off and support release readiness, user communication, training, production launch, and post-launch stabilization.
- Perform initial analysis of production issues such as data mismatches, incorrect calculations, access problems, or missing information.
- Manage recent developments, enhancements, production issues, and ad hoc requests based on ServiceNow platform.
- Maintain requirement documents, validation evidence, defect trackers, sign-offs, release notes, user guides, and enhancement backlogs.

Required Skills and Experience

- Experience as a Business Analyst in Business Intelligence, reporting, analytics, or data-related projects.
- Strong skills in requirement gathering, business analysis, documentation, data validation, and UAT coordination.
- Basic-to-intermediate SQL querying skills for source-data analysis, validation, reconciliation, filtering, joins, and aggregation.
- Understanding of dashboards, KPIs, measures, dimensions, filters, drill-downs, and data-visualization principles.
- General understanding of databases, data sources, ETL processes, data models, data quality, data refreshes, and role-based access.
- Experience preparing user stories, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, test cases, and UAT documentation.
- Experience working in Agile, Scrum,



Kanban, or hybrid delivery environments.
