Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Base Metal Trader – Copper role based in Mumbai. The role involves managing copper trading activities, including sourcing, pricing, and executing buy/sell orders in alignment with market conditions and company strategy. The trader will monitor global and domestic copper markets, analyze price trends, and prepare regular reports and forecasts to support trading decisions.

Responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, customers, and financial institutions, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely settlement and documentation. The role also requires close coordination with compliance, finance,



and logistics teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal risk controls, and efficient delivery of metal to clients.

Qualifications

- Strong understanding of base metal markets, particularly copper, including pricing mechanisms, supply-demand dynamics, and global trade flows.
- Experience in trading, commodities, or financial markets, with proficiency in market analysis, risk management, and hedging strategies.
- Ability to interpret economic data and market news, and prepare explicit analytical reports and trading recommendations.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
- High level of numerical proficiency and comfort with trading platforms, spreadsheets, and analytical tools.
- Knowledge of import/export processes, documentation, and relevant regulatory frameworks, preferably in metals or commodities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification or professional certification in commodities or financial markets is an advantage.
- Strong ethical standards, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment.
