About the Role
PSM Orechem is looking for an experienced Application Engineer – Induction Furnace (IF) to provide technical support to our customers and manage field trials of our silica ramming mass.
The role involves visiting steel plants, understanding induction-furnace operations, supervising ramming-mass trials, troubleshooting furnace/lining-related issues and providing technical assistance to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and supervise silica ramming mass trials at customer plants.
- Understand and monitor induction furnace and SMS operations.
- Supervise furnace lining, ramming and sintering/application processes.
- Provide on-site technical support and troubleshoot refractory and furnace-related issues.
- Monitor trial performance, lining life and operating conditions.
- Prepare technical reports and provide feedback to the PSM technical team.
- Coordinate with the sales team during customer visits, trials and technical discussions.
- Develop strong technical relationships with customers and support conversion of successful trials into regular business.
- Travel extensively to customer steel plants and foundries across India.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Induction Furnace – Steel Melting Shop (IF-SMS) operations.
- Must have practical experience in induction furnace operation and steel melting.
- Experience with furnace lining, silica ramming mass or refractory application will be preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Positive communication and interpersonal skills.
- Should be comfortable working at steel plants and travelling extensively across India.
- Candidates from backgrounds such as IF-SMS Engineer, Furnace In-Charge, SMS Engineer, Furnace Supervisor, Melter or Furnace Operations are encouraged to apply.
What We Are Looking For A hands-on furnace professional who understands induction-furnace operations from the shop floor and can independently handle customer trials, technical issues and furnace-related troubleshooting. Experience in actual IF-SMS operations is mandatory.
Compensation
₹3.5 – ₹6.0 LPA, depending on relevant experience and technical expertise.
