Job Purpose

- To operate and monitor the Alpha Olefin Sulfonate (AOS) manufacturing plant safely and efficiently, ensuring smooth production, consistent product quality, achievement of production targets and compliance with SOP and EHS requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor AOS production equipment as per SOP and operating instructions.
- Monitor critical process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, level, concentration and reaction conditions.
- Handle and monitor the sulphonation process and associated plant equipment.
- Operate pumps, blowers, reactors, heat exchangers, scrubbers, dryers and other process equipment as applicable.
- Monitor raw-material feeding and ensure proper process conditions during production.
- Carry out safe plant start-up, shutdown and changeover activities under the direction of the Shift Incharge.
- Identify process abnormalities and immediately report deviations, leakage, equipment problems or unsafe conditions.




- Collect process/product samples as per SOP and coordinate with QC for quality testing.
- Maintain shift logbooks, production records, process parameter sheets and checklists.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, QC, Utility and EHS teams for smooth plant operation.
- Assist in troubleshooting and equipment inspection during breakdowns and maintenance activities.
- Minimize process losses, raw-material wastage and unplanned downtime.
- Follow all PPE, Permit to Work, LOTO, chemical handling and emergency procedures.
- Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards in the operating area.
- Ensure proper shift handover and communicate plant status, abnormalities and pending activities.

Required Qualification & Skills

- ITI / Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical or related technical discipline preferred.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in AOS / Alpha Olefin Sulfonate / Sulphonation plant operations.
- Practical knowledge of chemical-process equipment and operating procedures.
- Basic knowledge of instrumentation and process control.
- Valuable safety awareness and chemical-handling knowledge.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts.
