Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Annotation Analyst role based in Kochi, with a focus on Bengali, Gujarati, Odia, and Punjabi languages.
The Annotation
Analyst will review, label, and categorize text and other data in these languages according to defined guidelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include reading and interpreting content, applying consistent annotation standards, performing quality checks, and documenting any ambiguities or edge cases. The role involves close collaboration with project leads and other analysts to refine annotation instructions, meet productivity and accuracy targets, and support the development and improvement of language-based AI models. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, a high level of language proficiency,
and the ability to work effectively within structured workflows.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency (reading and writing) in at least one of the following languages: Bengali, Odia, Marathi, or Punjabi, with the ability to understand nuances and context.
- Excellent command of English for internal communication, documentation, and following detailed annotation guidelines.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency when working with large volumes of data.
- Ability to follow structured processes, apply feedback, and adapt to evolving project instructions.
- Comfort with digital tools and platforms used for data labelling, annotation, and productivity tracking.
- Solid analytical and critical-thinking skills to interpret content and resolve ambiguous cases.
- Effective collaboration skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with team members and project managers.
- Prior experience in data annotation, linguistics, translation, or content review is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., linguistics, languages, communication, or related disciplines) is preferred.
