About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Android Developer Intern with a basic understanding of Kotlin and Java and an interest in mobile application development.
As an intern, you will work with our development team on real-world mobile application projects, gaining practical experience in Android development, API integration, Firebase, databases, and modern mobile technologies.
You will get the opportunity to understand real project architectures, implement application features, fix bugs, improve UI/UX, and learn professional software development practices under the guidance of experienced developers.
This internship is ideal for students, freshers, or aspiring mobile developers who want to strengthen their practical development skills and work on real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
- Implement application features using the Android SDK and modern Android development practices.
- Work with Jetpack Compose for building modern Android user interfaces.
- Integrate REST APIs using Retrofit and handle JSON responses.
- Work with Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Realtime Database, and Cloud Firestore.
- Understand and work with databases and basic CRUD operations.
- Assist in implementing MVVM architecture and maintaining clean, reusable code.
- Debug applications, identify issues, and implement bug fixes.
- Work on UI/UX improvements and responsive mobile layouts.
- Understand application lifecycle, permissions, intents, and Android components.
- Collaborate with team members through Git and GitHub.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and ongoing development tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Kotlin and Java .
- Understanding of Android SDK and Android application development fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Android application lifecycle, activities, fragments, intents, and UI components.
- Basic understanding of Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI development.
- Familiarity with Firebase , including Authentication, Realtime Database, or Firestore.
- Basic knowledge of databases, data handling, and CRUD operations.
- Familiarity with Retrofit , REST APIs, and JSON parsing.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts.
- Basic knowledge of Git and GitHub for version control.
- Familiarity with debugging and troubleshooting Android applications.
- Basic understanding of mobile hardware capabilities and features on Android and iOS devices, such as camera, storage, sensors,
permissions, and device-specific functionality.
- Basic awareness of iOS application development and its ecosystem is a plus. Hands-on iOS development experience is not mandatory.
- Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a remote development team.
Preferred / Good to Have
- Basic exposure to Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
- Familiarity with Ktor or other networking libraries.
- Understanding of MVVM architecture and Clean Architecture.
- Basic knowledge of Android Studio and Gradle.
- Personal projects, academic projects, or GitHub repositories related to mobile application development.
Internship Details
- Duration: 3–6 Months.
