About the role

We are looking for a hands-on AI Solutions & Automation Engineer to design, build, integrate and deploy AI-powered applications, automations and internal tools.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across AI/LLMs, Python, APIs, automation, databases, frontend/backend development and VPS/cloud infrastructure .

This role is suited to someone who can take a business requirement and independently turn it into a working solution, from initial idea and development through to integration, deployment and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities:

- Build AI-powered applications, tools, dashboards and internal solutions.
- Develop AI agents, chatbots and automated workflows.
- Integrate AI models such as Claude, OpenAI and other LLMs into business applications.
- Use Claude Code and other AI-assisted development tools to accelerate development.
- Build API and webhook integrations between different platforms and business systems.
- Develop Python-based automations, backend services and integrations.
- Build functional frontend applications and dashboards using modern frameworks.
- Work with databases, SQL and application data.
- Deploy and maintain applications on VPS/Linux and cloud environments .
- Configure basic server security, SSL, DNS, SSH, firewalls, backups and access controls.
- Troubleshoot API, application, database, deployment and infrastructure issues.
- Use Git/GitHub for development and version control.
- Research new AI tools and technologies and identify practical opportunities for automation.
- Work with the technical and operations teams to turn business requirements into practical technology solutions.

Required Skills & Experience AI & Development
- Hands-on experience building applications using AI/LLMs .
- Experience with Claude/Anthropic API or other major LLM APIs.
- Experience with Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding tools .
- Strong Python development skills.
- Good understanding of prompt engineering and AI application development.
- Experience building AI-powered workflows, agents or automation.





APIs & Automation
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON and API authentication.
- Ability to read API documentation and independently build integrations.
- Experience connecting multiple SaaS platforms and business applications.
- Experience with Make.com, n8n, Zapier or similar automation platforms is preferred.

Web & Database
- Experience with backend development.
- Working knowledge of frontend development using React, Next.js or similar technologies.
- Good understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Supabase or similar databases.
- Understanding of database structure, queries and data relationships.

VPS & Infrastructure
- Experience deploying applications on VPS/cloud servers.
- Good working knowledge of Linux.
- Experience with SSH, Nginx, SSL, DNS, firewalls, environment variables and server permissions.
- Understanding of basic server security, backups and production troubleshooting.
- Docker and cloud platform experience is an advantage.

Good to Have
- Experience with AI agents and multi-step AI workflows.
- RAG, embeddings and vector databases.
- MCP or similar AI integration frameworks.
- Docker and CI/CD.
- AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, DigitalOcean, Hetzner or Vercel.
- Experience with CRM, helpdesk, WhatsApp or other SaaS integrations.
- Experience working in an IT MSP, SaaS or technology services environment .

You should be comfortable researching documentation, experimenting with new technologies, using AI coding tools, troubleshooting problems and taking ownership of the final solution.

Minimum Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant experience in software development, AI engineering, automation or a related field.
- Robust Python skills.
- Practical AI/LLM development experience.
- Strong API integration experience.
- Database and SQL knowledge.
- Backend development experience.
- Working knowledge of frontend development.
- VPS/Linux deployment experience.
- Git/GitHub experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to work UK working hours.
