About the Role

We’re looking for an AI Automation Engineer with strong coding skills, hands-on automation experience, and a clear understanding of systems architecture.

You’ll translate business processes into reliable technical solutions, connecting applications, data, and AI through workflows and custom software. You’ll own delivery from requirements and architecture through development, deployment, documentation, and ongoing maintenance.

This role suits someone who enjoys understanding how a business operates and building systems that make its daily work easier.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and build automations: Develop workflows using n8n, Make.com, Zapier, and custom code for onboarding, lead management, reporting, task routing, and internal operations.
- Develop AI agents and assistants: Use Claude and OpenAI APIs to build systems that retrieve knowledge, classify information, make decisions within defined rules, and perform actions through connected tools.
- Build integrations: Connect CRMs, email platforms, finance systems, project management tools, and other applications through APIs, webhooks, and custom middleware.
- Design databases and data flows: Build Airtable bases and Supabase/PostgreSQL schemas, manage relationships and migrations, and keep data consistent across systems.
- Build internal tools and portals: Develop backend workflows and contribute to dashboards, client portals, and operational command centers.
- Develop MCP servers:



Enable AI assistants to securely access business data and perform authorized actions.
- Engineer for reliability: Implement validation, deduplication, retries, logging, monitoring, alerts, and approval flows.
- Deploy and maintain systems: Troubleshoot production issues, improve performance, manage costs, and adapt systems as requirements change.
- Document and communicate: Maintain clear technical documentation, explain architecture decisions, and flag blockers and dependencies early.

### Required Skills
- Automation platforms: Practical experience with n8n, Make.com, and/or Zapier, including multi-step workflows, branching logic, scheduling, webhooks, and error handling. Robust n8n proficiency is particularly valuable.
- Airtable: Experience with linked records, formulas, views, automations, scripting, and API integrations.
- Coding: Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, along with a solid grasp of SQL. Ability to independently read, write, debug, and maintain code.
- Backend development: Experience building APIs, integration services, and background jobs using Node.js and/or Python.
- AI development: Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, prompt design, structured outputs, tool calling, and validating AI-generated results.
- Claude Code: Ability to use Claude Code for development, debugging, refactoring, and testing while reviewing and verifying the resulting code.
- Databases: Understanding of Supabase/PostgreSQL, relational data modeling, schema design, migrations, indexing, permissions, and data integrity.
- Systems architecture: Ability to design how databases, applications, APIs, workflows,



and AI agents interact, including sources of truth, synchronization, queues, and failure recovery.
- API fundamentals: Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, authentication, OAuth, pagination, and rate limits.
- Engineering practices: Familiarity with Git/GitHub, secure credential handling, environment configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Ownership: Ability to work independently, clarify ambiguous requirements, communicate progress, and follow projects through to completion.

Good to Have

- Experience building MCP servers, RAG systems, embeddings, or vector search.
- Familiarity with React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS for dashboards and portals.
- Experience with Vercel, DigitalOcean, Docker, Linux, and self-hosted n8n.
- Integrations with Slack, ClickUp, HubSpot, Attio, Salesforce, Google Workspace, Stripe, QuickBooks, Email Bison, or Smartlead.
- Experience building scrapers, data enrichment pipelines, or scheduled data collection systems.
- Experience delivering systems for agencies, sales teams, or service businesses.
