Role Purpose The AGM Operations will be responsible for end-to-end manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on production planning, manpower management, capacity utilization, operational efficiency, quality, cost control, and timely order fulfilment.
The role will be responsible for managing manufacturing operations in a high-volume, fast-moving FMCG/D2C environment, ensuring flexibility to manage multiple SKUs, changing demand patterns, short lead times, and stringent quality and delivery requirements.
Candidates from FMCG, D2C, Puja Samagri/Puja Material, Devotional & Spiritual Products, Agarbatti/Dhoop/ Incense Products/ Havan Samagri, Religious/Festival Productd industries would be preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production & Operations Management
Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations and ensure achievement of production targets as per demand and business plans.
Manage high-volume production with focus on productivity, efficiency, quality, and timely fulfilment.
Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and production resources.
Manage multiple SKUs and production priorities in line with demand and dispatch requirements.
Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
Ensure smooth execution of production plans with minimum disruption.
2. Production Planning & Control
Develop daily, weekly, monthly, and annual production plans based on demand forecasts, sales requirements, inventory levels, capacity, manpower, and material availability.
Coordinate with Demand Planning, Sales, Supply Chain, Purchase, Stores, Quality, and Dispatch teams.
Monitor plan vs. actual production and take timely corrective action.
Optimize machine loading, line balancing, manpower deployment, and production sequencing.
Plan production to support seasonal demand, promotional campaigns, product launches, and demand fluctuations common to FMCG and D2C businesses.
Ensure appropriate finished-goods availability while controlling excess inventory and WIP.
Monitor production lead time and support faster order fulfilment.
3. Labour & Manpower Management
Manage permanent, contractual, and outsourced manpower across manufacturing operations.
Plan manpower requirements based on production volume, shifts, and capacity.
Monitor absenteeism, overtime, productivity, and manpower cost.
Optimize manpower deployment across production lines and shifts.
Coordinate with HR on recruitment, training, performance management, disciplinary matters, and employee engagement.
Maintain shop-floor discipline and a performance-oriented work culture.
4. FMCG & D2C Operations
Drive manufacturing operations suited to the rapid-paced FMCG and D2C business environment.
Manage multiple SKUs, batch sizes, production priorities, and frequent product changes.
Ensure manufacturing readiness for recent product launches, promotional campaigns, seasonal peaks, and demand surges.
Coordinate closely with Supply Chain and Demand Planning teams to align production with market demand.
Support reduction of manufacturing lead times and improve order fulfilment speed.
Ensure product availability while maintaining optimum inventory and manufacturing costs.
Develop operational flexibility to accommodate changing customer and market requirements.
Work closely with Packaging, Quality, Warehouse, and Dispatch teams to ensure smooth movement of finished goods.
5. Productivity & Operational Efficiency
Drive productivity improvement across manpower, machinery, and production processes.
Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, process losses, idle time, and operational inefficiencies.
Monitor production efficiency, throughput, downtime, rejection, rework, and overall equipment utilization.
Establish and monitor operational KPIs.
Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring operational issues.
6. Quality Management
Ensure manufacturing processes comply with defined quality standards and product specifications.
Work closely with Quality teams to reduce rejection, rework, deviations, and customer complaints.
Ensure compliance with applicable FMCG quality, hygiene, food/product safety, and regulatory requirements, as relevant to the product category.
Support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
7. Maintenance Coordination
Coordinate with Maintenance to maximize machine availability and minimize breakdowns.
Monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
Analyze recurring breakdowns and support root-cause elimination.
Plan production activities around planned maintenance requirements.
1. Cost & Resource Management
Control manufacturing costs through efficient utilization of manpower, materials, energy, and machinery. Monitor overtime, wastage, scrap, consumables,
and other operational expenses.
Identify cost-reduction opportunities without compromising product quality or customer service.
Support operating budget preparation and monitor performance against budgets.
9. Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with EHS, statutory, factory, labour, and company requirements.
Promote a strong safety culture across the manufacturing unit.
Ensure adherence to safe operating procedures and PPE requirements.
Coordinate with HR/EHS on statutory and labour compliance matters.
1. Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, Dispatch, HR, and Finance. Align manufacturing capacity with business demand and customer fulfilment requirements.
Support new product launches and scale-up of production.
Participate in management reviews and present operational performance.

Candidate Profile:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
MBA/PGDM in Operations, Supply Chain, or Production Management will be an added advantage.
Experience
12–18 years of relevant experience in manufacturing operations.
Solid experience in FMCG and/or D2C manufacturing operations is preferred.
Experience in production planning, shop-floor management, labour management, capacity planning, and end-to-end operations.
Experience managing high-volume production, multiple SKUs, seasonal demand, product launches, and fast order fulfilment.
Experience managing large teams and multi-shift manufacturing operations.
