Amaraa is a D2C women's fashion brand making hand-block printed pure cotton clothing with Indian artisans. We sell through our own Shopify website and run our own garment manufacturing unit in Andheri West, Mumbai.

We're hiring a full-time, in-house accountant to own our day-to-day finances: bookkeeping in Zoho Books, reconciling Shopify and courier payments, preparing vendor and salary payments, tracking costing and inventory, and sending monthly P&L; reports. You'll work directly with the founder. This is a outstanding role for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience across all of a growing brand's accounts.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Daily bookkeeping

- Record all transactions from the business bank accounts under the right expense heads
- Upload every bill to Zoho Books on time, tagged with vendor and expense head
- Collect and file all physical and digital bills
- Maintain the petty cash register, with a voucher and bill for every spend

2. Reconciliation

- Match Shopify payouts to bank credits, including orders, refunds and payment gateway charges
- Reconcile courier COD remittances and RTO charges
- Do the monthly bank reconciliation in Zoho

3. Payables and salaries

- Prepare vendor payment lists for founder approval




- Prepare the monthly salary sheet based on confirmed attendance
- Track staff advances and recoveries

4. Costing and inventory

- Maintain and update the SKU costing sheet, with founder approval
- Track fabric and trims stock
- Do a monthly count of finished goods against Shopify inventory

5. Monthly reporting

- Prepare the monthly P&L; and cash flow tracker
- Show profitability by sales channel
- Send the founder a 1-page summary covering sales, margins, ad spend and cash in bank

How approvals work

- You prepare all vendor and salary payments; the founder approves and releases them
- Changes to the costing sheet are made with founder approval
- Past entries in Zoho are edited only with a change log

What we're looking for

- 6 months to 1 year of accounting experience (articleship or trainee experience counts)
- B.Com / M.Com
- Basic knowledge of Zoho Books or Tally (we'll train you on our setup)
- Comfortable with Excel or Google Sheets
- Exposure to e-commerce or Shopify accounts is a plus
- Detail-oriented, honest and organised, and keen to learn

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
