Location: Hyderabad, Telangana
Role overview:
This role will primarily focus on reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies, and supporting a wide range of legal matters. The successful candidate will work closely with senior legal counsel and other departments to help safeguard the company's legal interests and maintain the required compliance standards.
This role is a part of our global Accordion group. The responsibilities and nature of critical deliverables for this role will span across geographies (currently India, U.S., and U.K.), with operations based out of our India office in Hyderabad
What will you do:
1. Compliance Program Support
- Monitor and support Accordion’s adherence to regulatory and legal requirements across applicable jurisdictions.
- Assist with internal compliance, policy implementation, and compliance training materials.
- Advise on corporate governance, data protection, conflict issues, regulatory compliance, and other compliance-related matters.
- Support compliance training operations, including training completion-rate reporting, campaign creation and execution, and follow-up for overdue or incomplete training.
- Support KYC / AML compliance questionnaire reviews, data reconciliation, and ongoing new deal or prospect analysis and other processes on internal systems
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and emerging compliance requirements.
- Provide advice and recommendations on legal risks and compliance matters to internal stakeholders.
- Assist senior legal counsel and the legal team in preparing legal opinions, reports, and risk summaries.
- Identify, document, and escalate findings from due diligence, screenings, or risk reviews in accordance with internal escalation protocols.
- Prepare and review vendor questionnaires
- Assist with the compilation of compliance statistics and reporting metrics for each of the Legal and Compliance applications
2. Operations, Tools & Process Improvement
- Own and improve legal intake, triage, prioritization, and workflow management processes to ensure requests are routed, tracked, and resolved efficiently.
- Maintain legal and compliance records, contract databases, matter trackers, training trackers, and operational reporting repositories.
- Coordinate employee list uploads from People / HR payroll systems
- Support vendor uploads on internal portals from various sources
- Contribute to data clean-up, data reconciliation, process documentation, and issue resolution.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline manual processes, online dashboards, workflow automation, and self-service resources in place of email-based reporting.
- Develop and maintain legal operations playbooks, process maps, standard operating procedures, knowledge repositories, templates, and guidance documents.
- Track legal team metrics and KPIs, including request volume, turnaround time, training completion, contract cycle times, backlog, and operational risks.
- Prepare dashboards, recurring reports, and leadership updates to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Support reverse-look up reviews for public companies, restricted trading list processes, conflict screenings, and related operational reviews as required.
- Support legal vendor onboarding as needed.
3 . Corporate Secretarial & Entity Governance Support
- Support corporate secretarial and entity governance activities, including board and committee meeting coordination, agenda preparation, minutes, resolutions, and maintenance of corporate records.
- Assist with statutory and regulatory filings, annual compliance requirements, entity registrations, renewals, and related documentation across applicable jurisdictions.
- Maintain corporate registers, minute books, authorized signatory records, powers of attorney, organizational charts, and other entity management records.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external counsel, company secretaries, auditors, and service providers to ensure timely completion of governance and filing obligations.
- Track corporate compliance calendars, board action items, approvals, and entity governance deliverables, and escalate upcoming deadlines or risks as needed.
Ideally, you should have:
- LLB, CS or equivalent degree.
- 10 years of experience in a law firm or in-house experience
- Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Problem solving skills and detail-oriented
- Good communication (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of contract laws and commercial agreements.
