Better Ledger Inc. provides U.S. bookkeeping, accounting, and taxation support to businesses across the United States. We work with U.S. clients and help them maintain accurate financial records, stay organized, and make better financial decisions.
We are looking for a US Bookkeeper who understands U.S. accounting practices and can independently manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities for our clients.
What You'll Do
Handle day-to-day bookkeeping for U.S.-based clients
Record and categorize income and expenses accurately
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Maintain Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable records
Prepare and review Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports
Manage and maintain books in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
Review transactions and identify discrepancies or unusual entries
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
Maintain proper supporting documentation for financial transactions
Communicate with clients regarding bookkeeping-related queries when required
Ensure books are accurate, complete, and up to date
Support the accounting team with additional U.S. bookkeeping requirements
What We're Looking For
2 years of experience in U.S. bookkeeping/accounting
Solid understanding of U.S. accounting principles
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
Good knowledge of bank and credit card reconciliation
Understanding of financial statements and month-end closing
Robust attention to detail and accuracy
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Robust written and verbal English communication
Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts
Willingness to work U.S. night shifts from office
Good to Have
Experience working with U.S. CPA firms or accounting firms
Experience handling multiple U.S. clients
Knowledge of U.S. payroll and sales tax
QuickBooks Online certification
Experience with accounting platforms and bookkeeping tools
