Company Description John C. Martin Center for Liver Research and Innovations (JCMLRI) is a research institution dedicated to innovative basic, clinical, and public-health studies with a primary focus on liver diseases and broader aspects of human health and disease. Established in 2018, JCMLRI is located in Sonarpur, approximately 20 km from Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The center operates within the premises of the Indian Institute of Liver Diseases and Digestive Sciences (IILDS), a treatment, education, and research institute in gastroenterology and liver diseases. Role Description The PhD Graduate Student at JCMLRI will participate in full time, on-site research activities based in Kolkata,



focusing on liver diseases and related areas of human health. Daily responsibilities include designing and conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and maintaining accurate laboratory records. The role involves reviewing scientific literature, contributing to research proposals, and preparing manuscripts, presentations, and reports for conferences and peer-reviewed journals. The student will collaborate with faculty, clinicians, and other researchers, attend seminars and lab meetings, and engage in academic discussions to refine research questions and methodologies. The position also includes adherence to ethical and safety standards in laboratory and clinical research, and potential involvement in public-health or translational projects aligned with JCMLRI’s mission.
